I know my (step)dad felt scared after his stroke, but my mom was there with him every day for most of the day so he didn't feel along. If your grandmother has family members who can visit daily, even if they have to do shifts, it would help her along both mentally and physically in the process. I only wish the staff would have allowed her to accompany him to his rehab sessions so she could have understood the process better when he came home and could have helped him more.
