I've owned Obitsus, and I've owned Volks. I'm gonna base my opinions on my own experiences with what I've actually played/collected/dressed/etc etc etc.
Poseability:
Obitsu is much more poseable than Volks, but I'd dare say that Obitsu's articulation is too much. Meaning, if you want a doll that can will be a contortionist, then Obitsu is the way to go. DD bodies can do normal poses well enough. By normal, I meant poses that people can do on a daily basis without looking like you're a member of Cirque de Soleil.
Floppiness:
The Volks DD "floppiness" issue is mostly due to the old designs like the strung DD1 and MDD bodies. The newer DDDy and DD2 has no such floppiness issue, unless someone has...overplayed with theirs. I've had a Dollfie Dream for 2 years now and the joints still creaks.
Durability:
I would have to give this to Volks. I've never played with the newer bodies, but the older 60cm bodies are notorious from breakage. The internal torso joint is so weak, that so many people broke theirs and had to buy replacement repeatedly.
It is rumored that this particular piece will break if you look at it funny. But that rumor is unconfirmed to this date.
I was surprised to find that the Volks neck piece was supposed to be such a brittle part. I've manhandled one of mine so badly because I never knew that you're supposed to be careful with that piece. So far, I haven't broken any of mine, and I've had 5 DDs already (and one coming).
But if it does break, Mimi on Ebay sells metal neck piece replacement. Not only is it more durable, but it actually gives the neck a bit more range in poseability.
Aesthetics:
There's a reason why DDs are so much popular among otakus around the world. There's a reason why people are sometimes shelling out thousands of dollars for one. And it's not even because of the "Volks" factor. It's because they're just that much prettier. They actually look like anime characters. Their bodies looks good in plain and revealing clothes, unlike Obitsus, that has such...a robotic look.
