Right now I'm in the middle of making collages of people and characters that have inspired stories no matter how original, fan fiction, or somewhere in between they are. Even if they don't have a story just an idea.

Do an image search on writer's notebooks to se what I'm going to get in to, kind of like an art journal without the personal journaling but definitely getting personal in the ideas I'm not ready to share yet department. A bit like a commonplace book too. I've heard it compared to a junk yard of the mind. The big thing is there are no rules outside or your own. I'm also playing Wreck This Journal to see what I end up with.
I'll post links, some might be big.

If I get something done at a print shop it never fails I'll find something I forgot or didn't like the size or came out too dark or something. A few complicated things and some color charts I did have the print shop do because it was beyond my printer.
Art journals are great. You use mixed media and words to express what ever you feel like expressing. You decide what goes in to it. It's up to you how personal or public it is.
