That....that is overwhelmingly illegal on her part. You really can't do that with another adults...well anything...but especially legal documents, not matter what relation you are to them. But I really do understand living with someone with her style. I hope you're able to find it!

I know, but what's illegal and what can be proven or have anything done about it are often pretty different things. It'd just be my word against hers as to why the papers are there. She can easily say the stuff was put in there with my consent - which is true enough, since with some things if I don't consent, well, I don't call her the Evil Overlord for nothing. I'm down to one cat, definitely not getting any more pets, and I keep anything I don't want broken or used as coercion locked in my room. My name's even on as a co-owner on the box, tho I have no idea where she keeps the key to it.

I was supposed to own the trailer, and that was something I could hold over her to ensure good behavior - the threat that I could take her sorry paranoid sociopath butt to a homeless shelter if she got out of line. My grandfather owned the place and promised to sign it over to me in return for fixing it up. Instead, she sent him one nice little blackmail letter (I don't know what the contents were), and it was signed over to her instead. At which point it became her way or nothing (even the highway is not an option - no car for a long time now).

About the only way I could leave would be to move myself to a homeless shelter. I've been unemployed at her insistence for more than a decade I think now (time kind of blurs any more), and probably unemployable now since she derailed any plans I had for anything past a high school education and turn 35 next month. With the economy as it is? I bolt, I starve. That simple, really. And I'm going to quit whining about it now, because basically Real Life Sux and all I can do is hold on and keep going at this point. And distract myself with roleplay and dolls.

Oh, I just found out my favorite actress/singer, Deanna Durbin, passed away a few days ago at age 91. (No one's sure exactly when in April---her son just announced it was 'a few days ago' through her fan club.)

It's not really a 'sux' at all, since she's in Heaven now and much happier and at peace, but it's still a pull at the heartstrings when you hear that your favorite star's no longer here.

Anyway, God bless and keep you, Ms. Durbin! You had and have the most beautiful singing voice ever and I know you're putting it to even better use now.

Amen, Setsuna! She had an angelic voice. Always sad when we lose a great talent.

Find out if you can rent a little space at a professional freezer locker (butchers sometimes have them, especially places that butcher deer for hunters). Put each book in a zip lock back with a dessicant packet in it, and do NOT fully zip the bag. You WANT "freezer burn" here. Then load all the books into your "space". Come back and check on them in about 3 months.

Or buy a chest freezer that does autodefrosting, load the books in their dessicant-baggies in it, and put it on its lowest setting. Close the top and leave it alone for three months

I wish I had known that earlier!! All the book have been hauled off already. Oh well...I hope to get some compensation for them through the home owners insurance.

If it was a flood don't count on it. Homeowner's doesn't generally cover flooding.

We lost a lot of books when someone who doesn't read thought a leaky tent in the back yard was the best place for them. I don't even know half of what we lost because there were just so many, instead I look at the books that were saved as the ones I was meant to keep.

Ugh. I can't breathe. The farmers were in the fields today. Driving home and I could smell the chemicals and after a couple of minutes into the ride, I could hardly draw a breath. I can't even go outside right now. I see an ER visit in the near future.
