Thanks everyone - it does help, just to share. I miss her, but I know it was time and the best decision. Once I have a permanent job I'll have a dog again; another rescue corgi to make me smile.

I'm very very sorry for your loss. I mourn for the loss of little dogs, so often have I felt those delicate paw prints depart upon my heart strings. Long have I mourned for the lives of my beloved companions only to find desolation and failure to live up to the standards in which they deserved. May you find comfort that she found solace in your companionship and refuge upon your house. Please accept my condolences. Thank you for your responsibility as a steward of animals.

Rainbow bridge...it ain't Heaven without our pets. As owner of an aging pet, I feel for you. Not looking forward to having to make that decision either but it's the last best thing you can do for your best friend. *hugs!*

Very sorry to hear your loss Grey. :( Letting your beloved dog go must have been difficult, and I admire your decision to make the call when it was needed. *Hugs*

Kenaiqueen: it isn't easy, but the most important thing I can say is don't wait too long. I made that mistake with my one cat and I regret to this day that I hadn't had the courage to say goodbye earlier. It was hard this time too, but I think she was ready as well.

calivano: thanks - she was a very loved dog and everyone who saw her adored her. She had not one home, but two as I "shared" her with my parents. They kept her while I went to work so she never had to be alone in an apartment and my father especially loved her. From the day I took her in, she never lacked for love.

Soapbubbles: This is the third time I've had to make this sort of decision - and it doesn't get any easier, but you know, I knew I was right when it was over and my vet said to me "Thank you for not letting her suffer."

Thanks for all the hugs folks :) I do appreciate them!
