'working guests' for the upcoming CCBJD-FOUND

Postby Astrid » Tue Sep 07, 2010 4:33 pm

EDIT I just want to thank everyone for their inquires and for helping out. We are now good for the obitsu part of the program for CCBJD as of Sep 16th 2010.

In an effort to make next years cons more well rounded we are having some Obitsu focused activities as well as workshops!

I for my part have little experience with Obitsu . I have owed one 1/6 volks which taunted me till I sold her and the wig I made for her , but I am trying again with a 60cm gal but I still need to look to the sage like advice of long time obitsu lovers. That is why I need your help ! In addition to resin workshop people I need some Obitsu folk!

what is a Working Guest?

A working guest is some one is can do a demo for other Attendees or run a workshop.

What is this for

For CCBJD Convention 2011 ( See http://www.ccbjd.org for our past con)

Why

I am putting together the program ( and lots of other stuff ! ) for next years Convention.

When?

So far I am looking at a weekend of April of next year.

what kind of things were you looking for ?

I am particularly interested in people who can devote at least 2 hours ( max) of the Saturday part of the con to a workshop namely for Obitsu related workshops.

Sizes

1/ 6 to 70 cm

Make up , restringing, customization, vinyl care, wig making ,pattern making or sewing or anything else for Obitsu

I am also looking for people who can run a RESIN or OBITSU dolly hospital for those attendees who are not comfortable with doing things themselves or are too afraid.

What do I get

You get free admission for Saturday and a gift bag ! Sorry I cant pay you I dont even get paid !

Consideration will first go to those that have profiles of their work that I can look at or a long standing good reputation with Dollieh Sanctuary.

You can pm me or post to ask questions.

I can only appear if it's a little later in May.... since my classes end May 3rd (with the 9th being housing move-out). This is my senior year, I really can't let anything get in the way of my senior project. ^^;;;;

My collection is about half and half. I've three 1:3 vinyls, three 1:3 resins and one mini-BB. I also do all my own 'maintenance' work on them, plus most of the sewing. There's also a sewing pattern book that I'm working on, geared specifically towards 1:3 obitsus. Since it's still a WiP, I am not exactly sure as to when the pattern book will be finished.

Here's a couple of links if you're curious about my non-sewing work:

Could be a possibility, my biggest thing would be where to stay, me and a driver, otherwise my crew could travel. I've replaced Obitsu parts, restrung my Dollzone mini, and faced up all customs but my Brownie. It would just come down to which ones are considered "on topic" for the thing.

grayhaunt- I pmed you back

kikichan- ----->" I can only appear if it's a little later in May.... since my classes end May 3rd (with the 9th being housing move-out). This is my senior year, I really can't let anything get in the way of my senior project. ^^;;;; "

me--I 'm so sorry then ! This years event is going to be in April , on a Friday evening and a Saturday but I know school is very important so work hard and we will regret not having you there!

Dollykim- The great thing about this convention is that I decide what dolls are on topic for lack of a better expression.

Kidding aside since I run this convention myself , I only answer to myself , as snotty as that kind of sounds but in this way its good. This past convention was open to all dolls as attendees but the bulk of it was Resin with some Obitsu there but this coming year I want the Obitsu community to feel even more welcome since they are ball jointed dolls.

So if you are willing to travel we can work something in. Your skills and effort will be much appreciated . So when you are ready to give me a solid answer either way let me know , PM me and we can discuss addition details . There is already someone else from the forum who has signed up as part of the crew !
