Vintage Francie and Midge are in the house and other than chopped hair they are in lovely condition. I've got wigs for now but eventually I may root them. The Midge Barbie body fortunately was just perfect. I just swapped Midge onto the FQ repro body actually so my Color Magic can have that. Her own snap leg body is trashed but she's in such lovely shape otherwise that I know she'll likely go for a few hundred anyway. She's just too rare of a doll not to sell and I can live with my repros otherwise. I finally have Francie and Midge, I'm happy. Hate to see her go but I can't rationalize keeping here and there are Barbie people here who will want her I think straight body notwithstanding. I'm going to take pics tomorrow to list her on my local doll e-list see how it goes. Found Francie. She's the TNT from 1965. She still had her bathing suit bottoms on but I'm not sure about Midge as yet. She had on a solid pink strapless swimsuit that might not be hers from the looks of it. Update: It wasn't. She's a straight leg Midge, of the usual kind (1963-1966) and not bend leg. The suit was on another Barbie. I found her. I'm still trying to ID a dress she came with too though. I think it's a Ms America one but I'm not sure...

It was my first day of work. I got hired to be a Nanny/Tutor to two young boys three times a week. Both boys are Special Ed and need help with their work. I've never worked with kids before, only tweens and teens. They are 6 and 8 respectively. If anyone can think what to do for boys that young to widdle away the hours please tell me!!! I'm trying my best, but I never even babysat when I was young.

What about paper dolls? Paper Doctors http://dollykim.deviantart.com/gallery/28673191 You can make a paper and milk carton city for them. And there's clothespin people http://dolfielittles.typepad.com/blog/2 ... eople.html

I'm thinking building stuff in general.

Anything active. If you can get them outdoors, do. It's a pity that it's winter, but getting them to explore on the very small scale generally fascinates boys--boys love bugs! Boys in particular need to be a lot more physically active than they are often allowed to be in school, and get misdiagnosed as ADHD because they simply aren't allowed to run off all the extra energy.

KitKat, may I suggest you hook up with a local homeschool group. I cannot tell you how many of the families in my group have at least one special needs kids. There's so much free information out there, including curriculum, field trips, and support. Often these groups have get-togethers and events. So as long as the parents are cool with it, that would be the direction I'd go.

Huzzah, according to the email UPS sent me, my Allison should be on my doorstep waiting for me when I get home! It's been such an...insane day at work today that I honestly can't wait to get home and tear through to him (though I still promise to do a box opening for him because, you know, it's therapudic or something.) Though the poor thing is currently being snowed on.
