You need acetone nail polish remover, cotton swabs or balls pulled apart in to tiny bits, and a strong thumbnail. Use a wet bit of cotton and your nail to scrape the paint off. Keep switching out to clean bits. If you have smudges rinse with water, dry, and let rest before wiping again.

Now I also discovered if you put a Monster head in a bowl or mug of water in the microwave and cook it for a minute or so you can soften the paint and scrape it off with your nail. I used to use hot water to soften rooting glue in their heads. Microwave doll heads at your own risk.

Did you try 91% rubbing alcohol and Mr. Clean Magic Eraser?

Works pretty well but takes a lot of scrubbing.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

With this new advice under my belt, I'm going to try it again when I get home from work this evening :)

Magic erasers really are magic, aren't they? lol

It didn't work with the 91% alcohol, but I chopped another small chunk off and dipped the tip in the acetone, and that brought the majority of the stains off of the plastic. The head's not a soft vinyl, but it's not a hard plastic either, so it probably acted differently with the certain chemicals. I removed the faces from two of the heads, to a point I'm happy with.

I cut Mila's hair (which was VERY long when I first took her out of her box) to her upper thighs. I think I'll sketch up a few ideas as to what I'd like to do with these girls.

I also bought my first CAM kit from Target today :)

I found a nice blog that compares the MM bodies to the MH bodies. Anyone curious can find it here.

And another search turned up some better photos, since my camera seems to have gone amiss :|
THESE ARE NOT MY PHOTOS. I found them on Veni Vidi Dolli's flickr.

Walgreens (at least here in AZ) are selling these dolls 3 for $13.98. Well, officially the sticker says Buy 2 at $6.99 get one free - but it's the same thing. I'm guessing they got them in for Xmas as my Walgreens was exploding with toys when I went in today for some dog treats! And mine had LOTS of these.

Click knees, decent hair and bendy arms/hands? I'm going to go have to check my Family Dollar stores for these. Usually the knock offs are hollow plastic so I don't bother much lately. The one with the blue hair is kind of talking to me.

I was pretty impressed with them, honestly. Save for the initial troubles removing the faces, they're pretty nice.

The blue-haired one is one of my favorite. I ended up trimming her hair a few inches, though, because the ends had gotten all ratty. It still falls below the length of her hips, though, and it's much smoother. And I love her colors, too <3 I'm not entirely sure how I want to paint her up yet, though.

If the grey-skinned one had a lighter skintone, I had even thought of making her into Marceline from Adventure Time. Otherwise I'm not sure. I'm thinking of painting the Draculaura-looking one up like a harlequin.

If you want a Marceline make one. I never let exact skin tone or height stand in the way of my character dolls.
