Hello,
Not sure where to start. I confess I am a doll collector (hang on, isn't that how they start at one of those 'anonymous' meetings?). I have little dolls and big dolls, Silkstones and Tonners, R&D Angels and Susie and will soon acquire my first Obitsu 60cm. My wife recently joined this forum - Misheru - we are celebrating out 10th anniversary this year by purchasing each other a large BJD from Japan.
My collection includes SilkStones, Susies, a 27cm Volks Who's That Girl, numerous R&D Angels, numerous Tonner Vinyl ladies (DeeAnna Denton, Cinderella, Ellowyn/Prudence, American Model).
I started out with a couple of OOAK figures that Misheru made me from Silkstones, they were made to resemble favorite game and anime characters (Shion Uzuki, KOS-MOS and MOMO from the JRPG game xenosaga, and May from the anime Hand Maid May). Things have expanded considerable from there...
As I said, this year I get my first large BJD, it'll be an Obitsu 60cm, probably a Gretel set. Somehow, I doubt she will be my last.
I decided to join up here after my wife did, I was lurking a little and read a hilarious post in the "Let's Talk" sub-forum.
So there you are, or rather here I am. Some would call me an addict or a doll hoarder, others might call me a dollieh whore, personally I think I'm completely sane and collecting these pretty works of art is no more abnormal or harmful than any other hobby and a whole hell of a lot less harmful than many hobbies I could name. I don't know how often I will post, but I will definitely be reading.
* Edit: Since the time I wrote this my addition has become worse, and my collection has grown. Still, the hobby is harmless, and healthier than smoking or drinking, so...why not?
