I've had some doozies. And they're like the most awesome dreams EVER. lol Lesse now:
Dream 1: When I was still in high school I once dreamed that my school turned into some bizarre corporate business, with offices in the classrooms and everyone wearing ugly business suits and medical masks. And the medical masks were actually some bizarre drug that made everyone like zombies (not ACTUAL zombies, more like hive mentality). They were all chasing me through the school trying to get one on me, too. Even my friends, but I ended up in the air ducts crawling around (I kicked one of my friends a good one in the face when he tried to grab my legs, and was quite happy about it O_o).
Anyway, I ended up getting caught and tied to a chair behind the stage in the auditorium. Then the principal stepped to the podium and the curtains opened and the entire school was there. Wearing ugly suits and medical masks. She started giving a speech about the masks and expanding territory .. don't really remember what exactly, and I was still tied to the chair, but somehow my arms were free, and there was this random string dangling in front of my face. So, I pulled it. The entire stage collapsed. During the confusion I managed to untie myself and then I marched up to the front of the stage (what was left of it), and started spouting off about how evil drugs were and how everyone was a moron for getting involved and then I woke up. lol Seventeen years later I STILL remember that dream. I also remember exactly what brought it on (random episode of Star Trek: TNG, the one with Wesley Crusher being chased all over the ship when everyone got possessed by that weird alien game-headband thingy).
Dream 2: A few years ago, I dreamed I was at the beach, and it was kind of stormy and all, so we went to my house which is suddenly across the street from the ocean (even though it's actually nowhere NEAR an ocean), and my friends are there (kind of faceless people, though), and I'm looking out the window at the ocean with all the choppy waves, and suddenly there's this wolf walking out of the water. He's huge, and all black, and his fur is spiky like shiny black needles, but he's got a ridge of leathery spines from his head to his tail, which looks like a shark tail. The spines are webbed and kind of flexible, like a sea monster or a dragon. Anyway, he walks along the road getting closer to the house, and he's looking at me as I'm looking at the window, and he passes the window and I realize he's like the size of a horse. Anyway, the doorbell rings, and one of my friends goes to open it. I'm like "DON'T!" and try to shut the door, but this huge wolf head shoves in and grabs me by the arm, making me drop the glass of water I'm holding. I actually FEEL his teeth in my arm, and then I wake up. And once I remembered how to breathe, I grabbed the nearest pen and notebook I could find and started writing down everything I could remember about the monster. He's now a character in one of my novels. lol
Dream 3: Now this one was weird and I have no idea what brought it on. lol My friend and I are walking through a park. Very pretty, lots of landscaping. There are these giant domed cages full of roses everywhere. They look like bird cages. At some point my friend disappears, and I'm at the opening of one of the cages. There's a set of stairs leading down, so I start walking down. There's a wedding dress on the floor. I step over it and keep going. I reach the bottom and there's a hallway. At the end is a room, so I walk to the room, and it's a bathroom. Who should be standing there but Carey Grant, dressed in those 1950s PJs, standing at the antique sink washing his hands. There's a mirror on the wall, and I remember there being two large, cast-iron candle holders under the sink, unlit. I just stand there watching myself in the mirror and Carey Grant wash his hands ... and then I think I wake up. That's all I remember of it, anyway. lol
Dream 4: A couple of months ago, I dreamed I was with my brothers, and we're all high school age. We're at my grandparents' house. And there's a secret attic I never saw before. So we go up, and there's an old lady living in a little apartment. It's decorated like a Victorian sitting room. My brother cuts himself on a railing and he and my other brother go into the bathroom to fix it up. The old lady goes off into another room. I see the woman's bedroom is a mess. Clothes and trunks and odd stuff piled everywhere. There's a weird fish bowl that looks like an iron cage. In it, a tiny little fish is swimming around. Like a guppy.
There's also a giant wine-glass shaped fishbowl, with a smaller cup inside it. Another fish is swimming in the cup, like a purple Betta.
There's an open box, like a very large storage trunk without a lid, and it has junk in it. I push a random sheet of cardboard aside, and there's another upside-down stemmed fish bowl. In it are dozens of fish, swimming around, in hues of deep red, blue, purple, green. Like multi-colored goldfish. I'm about to touch the bowl, because I feel sorry for them all being crammed in there (and I want to know how in the world the bowl can be upside down without any of the water escaping), but just then the old lady comes back, so I say I was just looking at the beautiful fish and put the cardboard back.
My brothers come back and we leave the attic, and I tell them about the strange things in the room and beg them to go back with me. They scoff at first, but then agree to go back later on. So we sneak back into the attic at night, and I show them the junk room, only the fish bowls are gone. I pull the cardboard out of the trunk, and the upside-down bowl is gone, too, and the trunk is empty.
We're about to leave, but I look under the cardboard one last time, and there's the upside-down bowl. So I pull the cardboard out, and then bowl is gone again. I figure it's a magic trunk and get my brothers to come back, and push the cardboard aside again. This time, there is no bowl. There's a breeze of cool air, and we all look into the trunk to find a long drop down a tunnel, with a little platform with railings right below to stand on. I prop the bent cardboard over the side of the trunk, so it's half-in and half-out, to keep the “doorway” open.
My brothers are freaking out but I insist we have to help the trapped fish, and I climb down onto the platform, which turns out to be a very crude lift of some kind. My brothers (very reluctantly) follow me, although they try to talk me out of doing this. I tell them to find something to clamp the cardboard onto the side of the trunk with, so it won't fall out and close the door. Too late, though, no sooner does one brother reach the platform then the cardboard slips over the side and the room vanishes.
So, I'm like well no place to go but down. There's a lever, so I pull it. The platform shakes and then starts to drop at breakneck speed. We're all screaming, and then the drop levels off and we're traveling through a HUGE cavern, like a cave lit up in gold light. There are platforms of rock at intervals with weird things, but hard to see since the lift/cart is moving so fast. But then I see a large rock platform and on it is a huge red and white koi fish, swimming lazily in mid-air. I grab the lever and pull it again, the cart stops, I hop out and go to find the fish, thinking it must be connected. The table/platform is very large, like a small rock hill. On one end, there's a toad. I say I'm looking for the koi fish, the toad jerks its thumb to the left and keeps sitting there. I walk the length of the table until I reach the end. It's all set up like an aquarium, with shining pebbles, plants growing from the rocks, waving lazily like in currents of water, only there is no water. It's like I'm swimming through mid-air.
I'm about to reach the koi, and unfortunately, that's where I wake up. Again, I grabbed pen and paper and wrote everything down. This will make an awesome children's adventure story.
Dream 5: Along the same lines, the other night I dreamed I had a fish bowl full of goldfish, and there was one fish twice as big as the rest. I tapped on the glass after feeding them and walked away, and this one huge fish squeezed out from the tank and followed me, swimming through the air. And nobody at all found it odd that I had a flying fish swimming in midair around my head.
I love my brain so much sometimes. lol
