Despite being old and overweight, I do dress Lolita. Usually Gothic Steampunk Aristocrat, but occasionally sweet. But with a twist - Scoundrelle's Keep corsets! I guess I am more Lolita inspired than Lolita. Image
You can't see the skirt, but it is a traditional bell and has a border with fairies. Me and Cirquemom at the Jpop Festival last year.

This is me and Scoundrelle, who makes these clothes and corsets - they are amazing!

This is another Scoundrelle's Keep outfit, we were taking pictures of Lily and Alerich (Obitsu Haruka and Obitsu Boy) for their wedding - before sending the to Cirquemom in California for the actual wedding and photostories. I really love wearing pretty things and the corsets are actually very decorative back braces. I can't get younger, and while I have lost some weight I refuse to wait until I am "perfect". I want to enjoy life now! I have pretty much always dressed this way if I could, and didn't know there was a name for it back in college. I wish I still had some of those clothes now! I think I was often very Mori.

It looks like with some adjustments the look could work for any age :) I'm still looking for a "dress up" outfit I could get some use out of. (I'm the person who would just go as Dr Who to the Ren Fair) But for all the doll clothes I've made I haven't had much luck for myself.
