Thank you! My mom bought me the skirt in a thrift store, and I altered the waistline. I took it in (making i high waisted), and folded over the left over fabric in front.

I went to a lolita meet in London on friday night :D it was great fun, sooo many people there! Lolita, harajuku, punk, goth and everyday styles all mixing together. I went with my sister (who I dressed up loli for her first time!) and random people kept taking our picture. It was such fun! Haha! Nobody was rude, not even the drunk guys on the train home at midnight.

A few pics ^_^

Cute pictures! The last one is the best. LOL

So a question, I remember the number one rule of petticoats was never ever wear a square dance petti. Then I remember reading somewhere that some square dance ones were okay. My question is, what is the right amount of floof?? I know obviously, something like this is no:

but what about like this?:

I'm going more for 'inspired by' than 100% loli, but I still want to have a loli-ish petti and shape.

Popularfizzydrink, great pics, but I wish that lollipop wasn't covering so much of your dress. It looks just adorable, but I'd love to see more of it!
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

@kurosu: Yay~! Thank's a lot for the pic! <3 It's a pity that you seem so far away because I would've loved to see your outfit up close.

@PopularFizzyDrink: You look great! I love how much detail you put into your entire outfit from top to bottom. :D

@ kittyasauras: If your skirt has room for just a bit of poof (or A-shaped), either of those petticoats will work fine. If your skirt is more 'bell' or 'cupcake shaped', neither of them will be able to help you hold it up. From appearance alone I also really like the yellow one, but it seems a bit flimsy from the fact they can actually flatten it out into a circle like that. =S

Kittyasaurus, you can wear a square dance petticoat! Mine is a Malco Modes 582 in black. My mom got it for me <3 Malco Modes petticoats aren't the cheapest, but had I known how awesome it would be, I would have bought it for myself long before Christmas! It's super soft, and I've had it for...two years? Maybe longer. But it hasn't deflated at all!

It has two channels at the top for the elastic, which have an opening. The elastic is secured with a button, so if you want to adjust the length of the petticoat, you can unbutton the elastic, take it out and put it in the other channel! I love that...if you want the elastic shorter, you can also add another button hole. My mom even sewed another channel in, so I can make it even shorter (I was too short for the factory length to hit my knees...) It's definitely a great petti, especially worth it if you're going to wear it a lot. It's my only petticoat, and I wear it almost daily...

Thanks, SoapBubbles! I'll try and take a close up pic of the skirt, at least...
