Dolls. An excuse for making things!
I've always wanted to try binding a book.
So here is the 1st attempt: wrong glue (too damp), no fancy end papers, unpleasing paper (aka: copier paper). The cover is leather salvaged from a thrift store jacket. I did not put cheesecloth over the sides of the signatures, I just treated the 1st and last pages as endpapers and stuck the cover on.
I sort of used this page as a reference:
I sewed three little bitty signatures. An even number would have worked better.
It is wider than I think pretty. It is a pretty big notebook, even for a 1/3 scale doll.
I might just go ahead and trim 1/2 inch from the width. I need to change the blade on my rotary cutter anyway, so why should it not do final duty on glue-soaked leather and paper?
