Projects: In Progess or Ideas? What'choo Workin' On?

I am almost finished with the rainbow dress project. One more dress-if I don't do violet over. I found the same color in my inspiration picture.

I wanted to show you my inspiration picture. I got the idea from the Rainbow Momoko Set-this isn't my picture. I saw them on sale and was enthralled with the idea of crocheting a rainbow for Cordie.

If I do it again, I think I will try a pattern that has sleeves.

While waiting for my very first doll to arrive, I've gotten sidetracked from hunting down vintage clothing patterns for her, and started working on a very silly project, a bed.
Why a bed?
I dunno.
Because it is all sticks and small planks and I can de-rustify my limited woodworking skills? Because (and I swore I would not do this (personify my doll, but oh well)) she'll be tired from her intercontinental travels when she arrives? Because I've always wanted to make a feather bed and my hubby does not care for feathers? Because I'm nuts?

I've got everything cut to length for the frame, the first sanding done, and have marked the holes I want to drill. When I can work on it some more, I'll hopefully have it to the point of temporary assembly (w/out glue) and can post a pic or two.

Dolls resurfaced as an interest for me at a really odd time... I mean had seen some amazing ones in the past that I admired, but never thought I'd buy one of the expensive ones, much less several. Even though there was a string of events that led to my sudden obsession over dolls, it's still a little random. I mean, painting painting painting painting... dolls! ...huh? what?

I've had other interests or obsessions randomly pop up as well, so you're not the only one, and it's nothing to worry about hehe.

I wish I had wood working skills like that, I'd love to have a copy of a Victorian couch to sit my resins on. Don't worry about what you make, your doll will love it, they love anything their care takers make with love.

This is fantastic! And those dresses would be perfect to embellish with ribbons too. All you need is a box to display them in now. Actually that could look pretty cute on it's own.

I have a plan to create some custom headbacks once I get my faceplates and body in, since I won't have a headback to use, haha.

Umm after that, I think I'll try sewing a simple frock or dress. Nothing too fancy

The doll is terrified, because five to one... once I finish with him, he's gonna get dumped in the ocean this weekend. ^____^
