lol, lame subject name is lame.
Anyway
I managed to get my hands on an old Japanese model kit from 1988, for the ye olde anime, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (or, Ronin Warriors for anyone who watched it on tv/FOX in 1995, or just Samurai Troopers for those that watched it on Cartoon Network around 2001ish...).
Lucky for me, it was also my favorite character, Cye of the Torrent (or, in the original Japanese, Shin... of the Suiko armor o_o; I guess.... I just know the armor's name is Suiko...).
I almost got Rowen of Strata (or, Touma... and I dunno the armor name in Japanese), but it was gone before I got the chance to do any more large household chores to make a quick buck off of.
Aaaaaaanyway.
I decided, instead of keeping it pristine and undone due to it's age, out-of-printness and etc, I took em out and started putting him together.
I'm almost done - I'm just loath to start painting in the eyes. I'd need a tooth pick...
I completed and painted his sub armor, hair and face, now I just need to grind/sand off the tabs of his over armor and paint it.
This is what I have so far... (nothing impressive, though)
The box (and yeah, it's the same dude as the dude in my avatar pic thingeder... x_x *just realized the image composition (angles) of the face is the exact same as on the upper left corner on the box*)
The pieces and instructions. Nothing hard, really... which is good since I haven't done any models since I was little (used to do cars and jets).
Tiny head is tiny D: Oh, and a small ad for some Japanese castle models, I think o_O
Arrrms and leeeeegs....
Tah dah! ....minus the eyes that I'm fearful to start doing. I just gotta do that and start on the over armor and his spear weapon thingy o_O *forgot what it's called*.
I wish he wasn't so pin headed, though. But apparently all figures/toys for the series through the years was like that... except an uber detailed $300 figure of Ryo of Wildfire (rekka). lawl.
I wish I could get his arms to do his armored-up pose, but they don't really like to do anything dramatic (or maybe, it's a bit 'traumatic'...) without unsnapping his own chest piece
For those that are used to making model kits, I have a question related to that (the above poses)...
I'm not used to making models any more, nor anything that had that kind of problem, so I have no idea.... Is there anything - specific glues, zap-a-gaps, whatevers to make him NOT snap apart when his limbs are moved around it's sockets (it's currently limited movement of arms and legs before it will start pushing on it's other pieces) or should I abandon the pose idea?
(though that suddenly makes me want to make an Obitsu version with sculpy armor, just so I can get that pose...)
anyway, I'll add update photos when I finally get the courage to potentially screw up his face when I do his eyes =D
