Ok, back to the posing obitsu y'all were telling me about

Congrats! Will you be using the default head or a different one? :D

Whether or not it's rigid, depends on the vinyl. I can tell you for a fact that the three part obitsus are hard vinyl, while the rest of them are a combination of hard and soft vinyl. BUT the *jointing* on a three part will give a greater range of motion over the 'ball-jointed' obitsus.

The *most* posable 60cm obitsu body out there, is this one:

Now, if you aren't afraid of a little customization (or feel like hiring someone to DO the customization for you), that body can be forced to do everything that a 50cm or 48cm can do. Three extra parts need to be purchased for this. ^.~

These:

Though, if you just get the last piece there, the only bit of 50/48cm mobility that you are losing is the shoulder shrug. ^__^

That part will not physically fit into the 3-part doll. You need the soft 'squishy' torso of the 2-part one to give 'lee-way' to get that piece in.

==============================

Now for some obitsu posing:

Omi. He's about as hybrid as you can get, with parts from the 60cm, 55cm, and 50cm.

I always love seeing Omi doing crazy things only an Obitsu can do <3

But you didn't post the one of what happened to Omi AFTER Niko dropped Momiji. ^___^ Ah, good times, I remember Nagi leaned over LAUGHING at Omi...

lol Grey!
*sigh* I broke the moment I opened up my savings account to order my first three dolls. I was starting to crack when I bought that pair of 1/6 action figures.

I should get this Obitsu before any of those arrive though hehe.

I'll probably use the default head for now. Want to try doing a head sculpt myself though at some point.

Thanks again for more information Kiki! It's amazing what you do with those dolls. Makes me want to buy 5 more! Also makes me wish I was a decent photographer! But I think that's one road I will never go down. If you had posted just 1 hour earlier I might have been tempted back towards the 60 again hehe, though modding it would have made me spend more money... so I guess it's fate that I bought the 50 ^_^ I do like the idea of having the shrugging ability too.

I can't wait! I'm so happy that this at least won't take months to get here. I ordered some 1/4 jointed hands too, so hopefully I won't have too much trouble modding them.

Who steals souls. You know, that's all. >.>
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

Also, Dirili, be aware that periodically Emory at Junky Spot does something terrible and awful - he opens up preorders on the dolls he carries! Specific to Obitsus, he takes orders for dolls, accessories and doll parts from Parabox - http://parabox.jp/eng_new/.

I haven't personally bought a larger Obitsu, but I probably will some day.

Yannyan, I know, I actually thought about posting that one... and a couple of others. But, I wanted to show a 'normal' range of obitsu posability. Some of the poses that I get my boys into, not quite normal. I was a little 'iffy' on posting the 'suplex' since that's kinda advances posing skills. ^.~

Dirili, I've been playing with, modding and photographing them for about 5 years now. It really is all about getting a feel for how they move, and respecting their limitations... and then finding a way to make them do what they aren't supposed to be able to do. XD

I also flat out adore all obitsus. They really are such personable little dolls. If there's something you don't like on a particular model, it usually can be fixed. Plus, if a mod is screwed up, all parts (except for the 65cm) are available for purchase separately.

Now, just to be completely evil. Here's a pose that your new doll won't be able to do. Yup, like all of my obitsus, this 50cm (Niko) is modded. ^.~

==============================

Omi is a mischievous little creature, that believes he should be an *only* doll. Of course, there is the exception of allowing his boyfriend, Erik, into the household. Given half a chance, he'd ditch everyone else that lives here.

Image

Though, for some strange and unknown reason, it seems that my nekomimi like him. I blame this on their being somewhat stupid.
