Picking up a PD Mini Roseanne @ Think Pink!

Postby Evelien » Sat May 12, 2012 7:03 pm

I've wanted a mini Planetdoll girl for a while now, so when I saw them pop up in stock at Think Pink yesterday, I quickly made a decision (Roseanne or Elf Renee: I chose Roseanne) and ordered to pick my choice up in their store in Nijmegen today. I've wanted to go to their store for quite a while now, but I never *really* had a good reason. It's only an hour away from my hometown by train :)

I didn't ask if I could take any pictures at the Think Pink store guys, because they have a page full of them on their website:
http://shop.fashiondoll.nl/atelier.php
I can tell you though, it looks even better than this now. The setup with dolls in the middle of the shop is a-ma-zing. They have an insane amount of beautiful dolls in stock and they're all posed on cute seats drinking tea or whatever :P. And yay, I got to touch lots of them! Besides my Roseanne, I pretty much fell in love with a tiny Resinsoul Yu they had in stock, but since I'd rather have her without a faceup and in red skin (the in-stock girl was normal skin), I'll have to pre-order.

So, anyway, I arrived at 1pm. Right when I entered the store and told them I'd come to pick up my little Roseanne, Joyce (the mother) and Marcia (the daughter) started making jokes about not wanting to give me my doll, lol, they were too busy playing with her and dressing her up for photos themselves. The atmosphere there is wonderful, so friendly, I really had a blast. They sat down with me to have coffee and they had lots of candy and cookie ready :P. I'd wanted to go into Nijmegen to go shopping (for MH dolls amongst others) after my visit to TP, but I stayed for over four hours (!) so when I left, all the stores had closed. TP's closing time is 5pm; I left at 5.15. I never even noticed I'd spent that much time with them.

After opening my Roseanne, I spent hours in their store, looking around and picking up pretty and useful stuff, trying wigs and eyes on my doll, trying how other brands' dolls feel and just admiring the amazing setup. During this time we were talking about dolls, dolls and dolls. I loved it. I go onto the internet to talk to doll people usually, so this was a truly pleasant, one of a kind experience. I was the only customer for four hours, aside from one other girl visiting for about half an hour. I took off my coat and got all the time in the world to enjoy their store. I could go on and on about how lovely it was. They're just so friendly, funny and honest about stuff. They pretty much make no money at all for instance, because all the money they make goes right back into the growth of their store, so they live from much less than minimum wage even though they work 18 hours a day. Phew. Not what you'd expect right? But it's so nice to see how dolls really are their passion. They were unpacking a Doll Leaves shipment and an AiL shipment while I was there and they were squeeing all the time lol.

So, anyway XD. This isn't a real box opening because my Roseanne was lying in her opened box when I arrived, but on the train back I got to take pics for the first time, so yeah ^^

I swear I did NOT think of the colour jeans I'd wear today when I went to Think Pink XD

The pillows are so big and fluffy that the lid of the box wouldn't stay on. They secured it with rubber bands for me :P

The little doll! I removed her random free eyes in the store to try different ones so I didn't picture her with her stock eyes.

I don't know her name yet. I'm thinking it's Kirsten, but I'm not sure.
That "dress" she is wearing is a Pullip Xiao Fan skirt by the way XD. Hey, I *had* to put something on her so she wouldn't be nude... ;)

Oh that's so cute!! I really wish I could go to stores in person to pick up dolls, ordering online always makes me slightly nervous no matter how many pictures I see beforehand. I love her pink wig <3
