On the other hand a wig might make the difference? I think perhaps a faceup and wig is in order before the final conclusion can be made.
I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the posing capabilities of the two bodies? Sculpt wise i like the definition on V.2.'s legs but the torso of V.1. looks better. I only have the V1 body and I quite like it.
I know.....:sigh: Why, oh, why is the one head I really need so SMALL?!?!?! I mean, she's made to be 'SD' sized....so why is she MSD-sized?!?! :cries:
Anyway, for the guys! I LOVE THEM!!!! I actually thought I'd like Vers 1 better than Vers 2 but after receiving them and playing around with them a bit, I prefer the Vers 2. ^^;;
It's not as 'action figure' looking in person and backbone definition is amazing! I don't like the feet at all on Vers 2, but he'll be mainly in boots anyway, so.... ^^
For posing, the Vers 2 IS noticeably better. However, I do find that BOTH keep 'popping' out of their waist joint unnaturally but it's okay---I see this happen on many 1/3 bodies, so it's not much of a problem.
Vers 2's knees are double jointed/capped, too, so he can bend his knees all the way and hold them up in front or behind him completely vertical. It's pretty awesome! And I love the leg definition and shape!!! Really gorgeous!!!! The clavicle/neck area on Vers 2 is just stunning, too!! Truly magnificent!!!
Vers 1 is super nice, too, of course! It poses well and is really a looker!
But from having both in my hands, I must admit, I ended up preferring vers 2!!! For both look and poseability!
(Vers 2 cons: ugly feet, waist joint keeps popping out, and slightly too much abs/muscles there, but after all, it's not bad in person. It's very detailed looking!)
(Vers 1 cons: the feet joints are weaker---he seems to want to always collapse at his ankles more than Vers 2; no double jointed 'capped' knees and his arms are a bit to muscle-bound for my taste. They're not bad or too too much, but it's just a teeny bit more than I was expecting. The Vers 2 arms are a little slimmer---still toned and muscular, but not as bulky.)
Overall, I can't say really anything bad about either! BOTH versions are really awesome! I'd absolutely recommend them as gorgeous large male bodies!!!! I like them much MUCH better than similar sized Island Doll bodies! Those are so sterile in their appearance and no matter WHAT you do, you just can't make them look very 'real.' They just don't pose lifelike or sit naturally, etc. Thankfully, these AD bodies are awesome and pose wonderfully and are super lifelike so far! I can't wait to really find out what they can do once their heads are on and they're all clothed and finished!!!
Admittedly, I do still love DZ bodies best---though they may not be as detailed in some areas, somehow they have real 'attitude' in just how they sit, stand, pose their arms, etc and you can see this by just glancing at them. They act so 'real' and in an arrogant way, even though they're just sitting or standing in a corner! My Kiyan doll first had a DZ body (70cm) which I LOVED, but then he had to give it up to become 65cm (more correct size for him in comparison to his seiyuu friends). He tried several bodies and (Island Doll---terrible and was NOT him at all; Impldoll---beautiful and almost good enough, but......still not his 'aura' or attitude.) Then I found him a DZ 65cm and he LOVES it again! It's got his arrogant stance and is just really 'real.' He was so stiff and doll-like in the ID and now back on a DZ, he's him again!!!
I'm glad that these AD dolls are also VERY close to being life-like and realistic looking, like the DZ! Can't wait to get Mamo all finished!!!! ^^^
On the other note about AD.....
Poor Gia! Is it strange that some dolls from the same company are accepted and some aren't? Is that common? WOW....... Poor Angelsdoll!!! And they're so nice and fast! They shipped out my 2 dolls in 15 days!
