The McGann Brothers

Postby DollyKim » Sun Oct 16, 2011 5:54 pm

As this round of dolling comes to a close I present 4 of the 5 to make it out with faces, the other being Tobey my pissed of Spider-Man.

I'm satisfied enough but face-up artists will understand my having to put them down for awhile.

She touched my McGann!

Mmkay, Paul has migrated over to a spare DML, his neck stretched out enough that he can fit without sticking, so Joe is on the work table getting repainted attached to the spare Gameitoy bod. Meanwhile his little brothers are on top of the dollhouse. I think this is a much better pic.

What a difference clothes make. Still wondering if Stephan needs more hair. Still trying to convince Mark to hold still. Will find a way to make Paul's neck shorter, he's decided he likes the Obitsu one.

DollyKim, please excuse my asking such a stupid question, but do you sculpt these heads yourself, or do you modify existing heads?

It depends on the doll, all four of these are mods.
Joe- Barack Sergeant Falkland Islands full repaint
Paul- Dragon Roger the Royal Marine full repaint and added hair
Mark- Cal Tek French Infantry only the eyes repainted
Stephan- BBI Peter Keys full repaint

I used a Barack Sergeant RMP for my Doctor #8, full repaint and added hair, he can work for a substitute.

Really nice work.
The doctor is amazing. I love his Victorian clothes. Your version is much better than the original. He has much more presence, and he's so aristocratic.
Was Mark supposed to be Kirk Douglas originally? He certainly looks like him.

Thanks about the Doctor, he was my first Who. No one can say who the Cal Tek (mark) sculptor had in mind, they did a lovely job, and his hands are stunning too.

*Actually Joe was supposed to be twins, but brother John didn't live long :( Never know if they were identical or not but the Doctor's head is also a Barack Sergeant and the resemblance is there.
