I GOT A NEW TOY!!!!

Greyhaunt got an Inkling, Greyhaunt got an Inkling!!!

And no, it's not a doll or even doll related, but I'm squeefully happy so I had to brag! It's a new "toy" from Wacom (who make the industry standard in digital tablets for artists) and I've been waiting to buy one since September! They had a limited release in November, but they sold out immediately and I had no intention of spending $1000 on Ebay for one when all I had to do was wait for more at the normal price of $199. Today I saw them listed again and BOUGHT ONE!!! WOOT!!!

Eeeee!!! That's so exciting!!! At first I thought you were talking about the little doll by (I think) that name but this is even more exciting!! <-- Says the art nerd, mind you. I've been eyeing those up but since I have my nice big Wacom in still really great condition I can't possibly even begin to justify getting it. Congratulations! Please let us know what you think about it.

LOL - I can't justify it, but I did it anyway hahahahaha. I've actually got two Intuous 3 tablets, one at work and one at home, and a Bamboo for my laptop, but since I'm a compulsive doodler this has had me drooling since I saw a preview for it this summer

Actually I don't look at this as an alternative to a tablet becuase in some ways it is very limited. Really all you can do is draw with the Inkling, whereas a digital tablet is going to give you the flexibility you need to take that sketch and clean it up, color it, do a million things with it. I think Inkling is going to be an awesome compliment to the tablet and will save me a ton of time I've wasted cleaning up scans, but I will never give up my tablets LOL.

I'll definitely post more info when I get it and have played with it though!

Yes PLEASE!!! I ahve been wanting to nab one of these up myself. Hubs actually told me he was originally going to get one of these for me for Christmas but then I was ranting about the 47cm and then Emory had a sale.. soo. But please share how it handles because I will still be looking to pick one up to use in conjunction with my Intuos 4. :3

We want to eventually get one of these for out daughter. She loves her tablet but still loves to draw on paper, so this gives her the versatility she craves. Congrats!
