well wishes please

I really don't do this sort of thing normally, but I've kind of reached the end of my coping skills and could just use some well wishes right now.

Two months ago my best friend died after a very short, very brutal case of ovarian cancer - she was only 46 and more of a sister than a friend to me. Not even a month after that my cat was diagnosed with kidney disease - he's estimated at having only 25% function left. Today, he suddenly collapsed - falling over onto his side and staying there until I lifted him up. He seems to be normal again, waking around, drinking, etc... but to be honest I'm terrified. Cyrano is my baby - I weaned him and raised him from nothing more than a handful of fur - I can't bear to lose him now, not so soon after I lost my friend. Tomorrow I'm taking him to the vet - I just can't afford emergency clinic fees - so please, if you could send some well wishes my way for him, I really could use it.

First I do want to wish you and your cat well, and let you know that you are in my prayers tonight.

Second I want to give you a word of encouragement. About a two years ago I had to rush my baby Zephyr to the vet when he got clogged up and couldn't pee. I was told that they would do what they could but that his kidneys were severely damaged so he probably wouldn't make it through the following 24 hours. I only had money to cover the first part of the procedure then I took him home sobbing thinking I would lose him that night. The vet had wanted to put him down on the spot. That was two years ago and today he is perfectly fine and just had his 6th birthday.

I know it's rough, and I know it can be hard to think or even consider a positive outcome, but hold in there. The unexpected can and does happen. I pray that Cyrano comes through as strong as Zephyr did.
