Lol, DoA.

The place for those OT discussions that you just HAVE to share in a doll themed forum.

It is the same sense of entitlement that people have who think it is okay to download copies of pirated video games (or whatever) and brag about it or get mad and trash Sony because they get banned for PSN for having modded PS3s in order to do such things. There is no respect to the authors and artists and their works anymore. People gripe about jobs and employment and money, but it is all ME ME ME...they don't stop to consider others and that their selfish actions are hurting others who are doing honest work.

Grrrr.....

We got rid of an entitlement b*tch in our life, she stole Cannon brand towels from us that my aunt had given us. We aren't fancy towel kind of people, I don't even know what brands we have, but we were suddenly missing some. She wanted to buy our mini van for dirt cheap because it was "too good" for us. That all wheel drive splitting leather seats broken motors in the windows with tape on them 1995 model saved our lives when a tire blew on the freeway, the all wheel drive especially.

As for karma getting her she's lost all of the homes she "owned", constantly getting loans and not paying them but depending on renters etc. We no longer answer her phone calls.

See, its things like this that make me terrified of DoA. While I can understand not wanting people to buy recasts (especially knowingly and repeatedly), what if someone comes in, all proud of their new doll they got for a bargain, and suddenly gets yelled at and banned because it's a recast? If a fake is good enough, people can mistake it, and learning you didn't get what you thought you did is hard enough, but with the Dolly Police scowling down at you it doesn't really help :<

The thing is, the person never flaunted the recast at DoA. They posted it on their own personal Flickr and I find it hypocritical for DoA to talk behind this person's back, savagely attack the person on their flickr and on DoA, yet condemn sites like Den of Demons.

I understand recasting is wrong, but jeez. I didn't see the point of attacking someone so savagely without any point except anger at the fact it's a recast. I mean, what could have the person do with the doll now?

Especially when you consider that they either stumbled upon it accidentally, or specifically hunted down recasts on flickr. And from what I've heard of some DoA members, I wouldn't put the latter past some of them.

And even if they did just stumble upon it, they could just as easily choose to ignore it - like an unsavory email. You can delete the email and forget about it, or linger on it and get mad.

One of my oldest custom dolls is a recast, and I've never bought another nor said where it came from and don't parade it. It's a tricky thing when you know because you don't know what to do. Flaunting and pointing out where to get one isn't the answer either. If a person unknowingly gets one and finds out after you can't blame them for anything but ignorance.

And getting rid of said doll or keeping a bag over its head won't do either. If anyone asks I just say I found it on Ebay but don't remember from who and haven't seen them again :/

Yes. I was getting ready to post something quite similar to this. I believe in this post entirely.

I might kick puppies and puppy dolls in my free time, maybe I take pictures of their faces while I'm doing it on flickr. It doesn't concern the forum, it shouldn't matter. Or like some one who has a sex doll, they don't post it on DoA, but does that mean they should be banned from DoA? Or heck, while the admin is at it, why don't they just ban all members who have off topic dolls.

It's ridiculous.

I'm so tired of DoA. I haven't been on there in ages. They piss me off a lot. :/
