The best advice I can give is to check your own priorities. Only you know what they are. One of the wisest things I've ever been told is that to see what you truly find important in life is to look to where your money goes. You spend on what you believe in your heart to be important. It is kind of a reality check. Sometimes what you find out can be sobering.
That said, it doesn't mean that if you want to save the whales, or whatever, that every extra dime you have needs to go toward that. There's nothing wrong with that if you want to, but it's perfectly fine to have hobbies that you enjoy. There is nothing wrong with spending money on yourself.
Personally, I grew up poor. I also find that charity is one of my biggest priorities. It is hard for me to be frivolous, and that's what dolls are. Sometimes guilt does try to kick in, but when it does I do check to make certain that all of my priorities are still in order. Dolls, as much as I like them, are at the bottom of the list. As long as their financial priority is also at the bottom of the list, the guilt goes away for me.
