Thanks for the tips! Better run to a hobby store and get a respirator and sandpaper sometime soon. But I really hope that her face won't have any problems, because if it's just the body, clothing can take care of that. (shrug) Well, one gets what they pay for.

I know you've already decided which doll to buy but to touch on that subject- buy the doll you want.

As a child without a Cabbage Patch kid when I got in to this hobby the last thing I ever wanted dolls to be was a reason to exclude people and hurt feelings. Had I listened to doll "peers" I wouldn't have my Xavier because in some opinions he's a "fugly Dollzone". Xavier led to taking a picture with my sister for a contest which led to the twins, the only thing we've ever won together and I can count contests and "trophies" I've won on one hand. Had I stuck to on topic dolls there might not have been a Rian who led to everything that involved the night at Puppet Up. No off topic 1/6 dolls, no cast of Doll House, no need to make heads for characters I need, no need to learn to make Roger...

My website and all the things I've learned would have little to no reason to be if it was just my on topic "non fug" mini Orientdoll and hand full of tinies. Make your otter, keep saving for your wish list, and buy the doll that says 'I live with you now'.

I would advise against sanding bubbles! Sometimes there are bigger bubbles underneath the small ones or the bubble that you see is just the tip of a large one. Sanding would just make the bubbles worse. :( You could fill them with apoxie sculpt instead. Just play it safe and be careful.

Kittyasauras is right that there might be bubbles underneath. I have had minor bubble(s) that i sanded off and everything was fine. I guess it really depends on the cast.

Well...I don't know what a bubble looks like so...when they said bubbles, I thought it meant like popped bubbles, which would kinda look like soap bubbles on something which popped and theres this thing on the surface, where edges of the bubble would have been, you know? And it sounds like those type of things could be sanded of pretty easily. Or is it literally hollow, slighly "swollen" looking surfaces in the resin, where sanding off the swollen part would reveal a hollow, concave space inside? Any pic examples would be awsome...

Mine only had rough sanding so I don't know, on mine if you look very very very closely to her legs she looks like she has wood graining almost or something.
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

Usually it just means when pouring there were bubbles in the resin. THere won't be any swollen parts. Just tiny pockets of air inside the resin. Usually the bubbles are very tiny like a pin head size. But I some ppl might have seen worse?

Hm. If those aren't too big, I can live with that. But if they are pretty noticeable, apoxie can fix that.
