My friend gave me a nudge so I thought I'd post some pictures of Mito. He's kind of a cam whore... Sorry if you've seen some, I've posted a few on DoA and DA orz
HURRAY a 55cm guy!!! ANd you used the default head - that's awesome! Nice job on opening the eyeholes - he looks great. Question for you on that - did you use a lot of putty to get the eyes to stay up? I've opened the eyes on another head and I'm having a terrible time keeping the eyes from falling inside the head
Greyhaunt, I don't have this particular head (yet, its on it's way with my 60 cm body) but I've noticed that different eye putties have a different tack level and stick to different materials to a different degree. The stuff I got from CoolCat on ebay is a lot stickier (more like magic tac) than the stuff I got in the heads of my RS dolls. The other difference is that the CoolCat stuff sticks to everything and anything. Glass or acrylic and vinyl, while the stuff in the RS doll heads prefer to stick to acrylic and shuns glass and sticks to vinyl less than it does to acrylic. Not sure why. I'm using the CoolCat stuff in my Gretel head since the other stuff just falls off her.
@Greyhaunt - Thanks! The head is really nice but the stock photos of it are awful. I actually don't have a lot of putty holding his eyes in. I've noticed that the eye putty I'm using (white poster tack) doesn't like to stick to the slick vinyl inside his head like it does to resin, but if I work at it, I can get it to stick decently.
I mostly use the eye putty that Jspot sells. I REALLY HATE the uber sticky stuff that Bobobie uses - it's like frigging bubble gum I swear! I rolled a bunch out of my Bei's head when I swapped out eyes and then accidentally sat her on it - I'm STILL trying to get the junk out of her butt joints >< hahahaha
Haven't tried Cool Cat's stuff yet - but I may have to for my cut eyehole doll. Thanks for both of you for the suggestions
He looks great- nice face-up! I never understood why they didn't release that head with eyeholes, it's such a nice head.
Grey- I would suggest a thin layer of superglue on the inside of the head around the eyeholes where the putty will go. That will give it a surface to stick to. I had the same problems with my default head.
