1/6 Sailor Scout Resin Model Collection COMPLETE!

Postby SetsunaKou » Thu Jan 09, 2025 4:46 pm

AAAHHHHH!!! After exactly 2 years, my new 1/6 'Ori' Sailor Scout model collection is complete!

I had already collected and built the 4 Inners, 4 Outers, 3 Starlights, 4 Asteroid/Amazoness Ori 1/6 resin models and was shocked that e2046 hadn't made Super Moon, Tuxedo Mask, Mini Moon nor Chibi Chibi in this line!!!! The main stars of "Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon!" So I set about figuring out how to create ones that would match the 'Ori' collection in size and style decently.

I used the Rini/Chibiusa 1/6 head from the Ori Helios x Rini kit and put it on an old B-Club 1/6 Mini Moon body---she looks great and matches well! Then for Chibi Chibi, I bought the Sailor Moon Cosmos 37cm PVC figure statue and used the Chibi Chibi from it for my set. She's not perfect (more 'manga' style than anime) but she's the right size and okay for now. (Please, e2046! Create a 1/6 Ori Sailor Chibi Chibi next!)

So that just left Super Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask! I saw the King Endymion x NQ Serenity Ori 1/6 kit and preordered that to 'transform' into Tux but Super Moon was still missing! I saw the Ori 'damaged' version of her with Baby Tara but I want the 'attack' regular look to match the other Scouts! And not a 'damaged Moon!' So I preordered a 25th anniversary Super Moon kit but while her head is pretty matching sizewise, her body is huge! So I set it aside for a bit to see if a regular 'Super Moon' would be released by Ori before I needed to work on it, and thankfully, about 6 months ago, I saw Ori advertising an 'Attack Super Moon' kit!! YAY!!!! I preordered it and it got here about 2 weeks ago so I immediately worked on her. The only thing I didn't like is her back bow---way too small/short, so I used the back bow from that 25th anniversary kit instead and now she is perfect!!!! The Endymion kit just came in a few days ago and I made him yesterday to complete the collection! I couldn't use the head (it was WAY too small more like 1/7 scale) and I custom made one from the spare 'closed eye' Pluto Ori kit!! It was a little challenging to carve off and boil the bangs from the tiny head to fit on the 1/6 head but it worked out great in the end!! I used several parts from various Tux dolls (Irwin 6" hat with enlarged brim, BanDai mask from doll) Now my 1/6 model set is COMPLETE!!! Thank you, e2046, for such lovely and perfect representations of our favorite Sailor Soldiers!!!! I'm so excited they are all here and done, after 2 years of planning and waiting for kits to arrive one by one in the mail!!!! Only the cats left but the preorder isn't releasing any time soon for them. I actually already bought them about 12 years ago, for my 11" Doll set's cats. I want to order them again now for the 1/6 model set's cats but they are just on 'preorder' yet for who knows how long. :( I might just 'steal' the same cats from my 11" doll curio to go with the models for now!! :laughs:

Anyway, I can't wait to get a chance to go outside with all the models (22 characters including the 3 cats!) and take one huge group shot photo all together!!!!! :)

But for now, here they are, in their individual 'groups:' (Which model is your favorite? :D )

Super Sailor Moon & Tuxedo Mask (Moon Princess and Royal Earth Prince):

I my DOLL, they all look amazing!

Also, you've made me realize just how much I love Uranus in yellow.

Amazing work! :D Should be interesting to see a full group shot of everyone at once.

I think my favourite is tied between OuterStars and the four royals; Super Sailor Moon looks pretty good with white boots and light pink as her secondary.

Thank you SO much, Kattriella-san! That means so much to us! And we are super happy you also love Uranus in yellow!!! I mean, her powers are yellow! Her favorite color is yellow/gold and her image color is yellow!!!!!!! She is the missing yellow Senshi!! :laughs:

Black - Tuxedo Mask; White - Moon; Pink - Mini Moon; Dark/Hot Pink - Ceres; Fuchsia - Chibi Chibi; Maroon - Vesta; Red - Mars; Orange - Venus; Yellow - Uranus; Lime Green - Juno; Green - Jupiter; Mint - Star Healer; Aqua - Neptune; Sky Blue - Pallas; Blue - Mercury; Steel Blue - Star Fighter; Indigo/Violet - Saturn; Purple/Bordeaux - Pluto; Orchid - Star Maker

See how the rainbow is all filled out, except for Uranus, while having the correct YELLOW powers and image and fav color she should have, had a dark blue uniform? I always chalk it down to they didn't want her to encroach on Eternal Sailor Moon's skirt look which is also colored 'yellow' in the animation but is meant to be 'gold.' (Cause metallic gold is not possible in cartoons for some reason!) So we just put her back in the right colors her outfit ought to be!! :)

Thanks for liking it, too!! :hugs: Makes me happy!!! :D

Thanks, Radix-san!!! Yeah, I can't wait to get a chance to take a full group shot!!! :) Next goal!!!!! :laughs:
Of course, you know I love the Outers/Stars best, particularly Star Maker x Pluto!! (My faves!)
But yeah, had to give Super Moon her proper colored boots! She's the 'white' Sailor so why were her boots dark pink/cherry? A little switch and now she's image colored, too!!! ^.~

Basically Sailor Moon is a major landmark in the magical girl genre and was written by a woman who wished to have the characters as friends.

I'd recommend the Kodansha "Eternal Edition" for a more faithful translation along with the Viz dubs for not Americanizing, censoring, and skipping over entire episodes. Some anime arcs were created, like the Doom Tree one, so there was time for the manga to catch up but it's all good.

Aww, wow! Thanks so much, VV-sama!! :hugs: Your comments always make my day and bring a smile! :) My sis and I have loved Sailor Moon for almost 30 years now and we still love it as much or more than ever! We've seen and read all the versions but still, after all these years, our favorite is the original English dub by DiC/Cloverway. The voices and music from that version just really can't be beat! The original Japanese is good, too, of course! Especially the Sailor Starlights! (Only Japanese for them!!!) But for us, the English dub 90s version is the one that sticks in our minds and hearts most as the characters we 'hear' and know and love. :)

Not sure if you are into anime or not, but it and Dragonball Z are the 2 franchises back in the early 90s which introduced Japanese anime to USA audiences and had us fall in love with the artistry! (Well, not DBZ so much, in my opinion. It's pretty ugly. :laughs: That one is 'shounen' which is aimed at guys so it's more 'tough guy' looking animation, while Sailor Moon is 'shoujo' which is aimed at girls and very beautiful. Though the 2 series are so beloved by most anime fans somehow, they overlap all boundaries!)

Anyway, thank you again for commenting even when you didn't know the characters or looks! That means a lot! :hugs:

God bless!!!!

One of the beauties of anime and manga with the modern world's access to information is you can find one about any genre and topic you wish, and a choice of subtitles or dubbed in your language. Can't explain to you kids how exciting it was to find anything, even a heavily edited VHS, of older shows I hadn't seen in years, or even to find a hint of merchandise back then.

I discovered Sailor Moon when I was recovering from my brain injury, it helped to have something with a bit of a continuing story line. There's so much I don't even know if I've even seen al the episodes yet. I know I barely got to Uranus and Neptune before it disappeared off of OTA television. :/ Have seen a few episodes here and there tho.
