A miniature rose bush came with our current place. Didn't know that's what it was until it started blooming but after wanting some all century we finally have them. The buds start out a warm reddish color, bloom peach, and turn white as they dry out.

What color did you get?

All of the above. We had an assortment of singles, and I got one of each. So theoretically, six different colors. (Red, pink, pale pink, white/cream with pink tips, white/cream with peach tips, and I think white.)

Dang that sounds pretty. I'm reminded of the pink bush rose that we didn't know was a domestic plant til it bloomed the night one of my sisters was born. She wound up named after it.

It's a beautiful little bush. Whomever was gardening before we moved in mowed everything flat. We didn't get to it for awhile, and it's right against the house, then we started seeing buds. It's only waist high and the flowers fit in the palm of your hand.

Mini rose bushes will work in a pot and they come in all sorts of colors.

Today, I drafted fashion templates for Monster High g3 characters. I used Twyla and Draculaura as references and made ones for slim and curvy female bodies. I'm not going to worry about making different height fashion templates, because the only difference between Twyla, Clawdeen, and Frankie is calf length. I don't have an Abbey yet, but I think Draculaura's fashion template would work for her too.

I love having fashion templates to doodle outfit and costume ideas on. It's a lot more convenient to draw a naked doll once and photocopy it than to draw a naked doll to put clothes on every time I wanna brainstorm fashion ideas.

Kind of non-doll-related, but I've finally decided to put my colored pencil sets to good use.



Her name is Anara. I EVENTUALLY want to turn her into a doll, but that's a long way off. Money is a little tight right now, so no big spending on project supplies for the foreseeable future.

I did a lot more work on her after I took this picture, but it's something for now.

Materials used: Prismacolor Col-Erase for the sketch, Cezanne colored pencils for the color, 91% rubbing alcohol to help blend

Yes and no. I don't play D&D, but I have an obsession with it. She's supposed to be a purple tiefling.

I'm designing some easy summer wear for Draculaura and Twyla. This time, I'm also designing things I'm going to paint on the clothes with fabric paint, so they won't be so plain.

I also have some fairy tale anthologies coming in, and I'm hoping I can do some illustrations inspired by them, should be fun.

Cotton will take paint and other decorations best. If you want practice fabric the plain handkerchiefs for decorating and flour/feed sack is easy to get. I will say the inkjet printer fabric is a bit stiff and could be hard for small things like Monster sleeves.

For paint if you do regular artwork, especially watercolor, I would suggest Derwent Inktense. It doesn't need any form of prep or heat treatment before or after and won't get stiff or crack.
