Now that my doll sort and toss is finally over, I can finally start up doll crafting projects again! Last year, I drew designs for slumber party clothes for Sunny and Vivi. Now, I'm picking that project back up, and including purple Emi and black Cole (a customized River). After drawing many designs for the past 2 days, I finally decided the first pieces I should make are bathrobes! I bought a bathrobe pattern on Etsy, but I thought I could do simpler myself, so I drafted up a quick pattern, and I'm sewing it up to see how it comes out.

I've been collecting fashion doll patterns for the last couple years, and trying to keep track of what I do and don't have. I've decided I'm going to start making spreadsheets for different companies and keeping track of what I do and don't have.

Y'all, somebody needs to pray to Dollieh Jesus for me, I've begun work cataloging the Annie's Attic crochet and plastic canvass patterns. At last count, I was at over 300, and I know I'm not even close to being done.

Is there a Dollieh Jesus? That sounds like my kinda religion!

Unrelated, I did successfully make a bathrobe for Sunny, but the morning after, my wrist HURT like the dickens! So I've had to take a few days off to let my wrist feel better. Let that be a lesson to me next time I decide to binge on sewing when I haven't done so in a long time.

Let's be honest, most of us treat our dolls like they're sacred relics.

I have, at last count, cataloged 548 Annie's Attic crochet and plastic canvas patterns alone in my spreadsheet, and I know I'm missing some. AND THAT'S JUST FROM THAT ONE COMPANY. Good thing I like making lists. I've "finished" the Simplicity and Butterick lists, now I'm working on McCall's, then I'll start on Vogue. I've logged some of the Pattern Factory patterns, but I know I'm missing a bunch of those. Also, if anyone has any information on the pattern bookslets by Janice Rose Rader after around 1985, I would love any help. The order catalog I have only goes up to number 21 of the sewing patterns, and I know there are at least 28, as I have number 28.

I've begun writing scripts for the photostories I plan to shoot once I get my workspace set up.

Have you thought about doing story boards for them so you have an idea what angles and set ups you'll want?

My process is script, then storyboard, then set design, then photos. Working out the dialogue is the hardest part for me.

Getting closer to being done. The next step might need to be done with a stick pin. Making the base layer a chalk finish paint was definitely the way to go.

I have also discovered that Tombow brush pen markers stick to and can be hard to cover up with the acrylic but you can 'erase' them with water or the blender pen if you do it right away. If you let it dry it can be tricky to cover up with thin acrylic.
