That is a great idea, hopefully we can find someone soon.
If anyone wants to captain a fundraiser they are welcome. With our household being disabled and on other assistance we can’t even think about one.
We are looking to be in the greater Dallas Fortworth area, wouldn’t start migration until after the 5th, not sure if stuff would go to storage or a dwelling yet. It’s a 2 day trip along Route 66 and a night in California each way along with gas and food.
Leftover funds could go to any credited place that helps disabled people find housing.
If anyone does start one I have someone else I deal with online who might want to help too.

Well one thing I can warn you about right now is DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY ELECTRIC SERVICE THAT HAS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A NON-CHANGEABLE FLAT RATE PER KILOWATT/HOUR. Texas has its own rules, and they will try to sucker you into an "energy savings plan" that allegedly "encourages conservation" and "will save you money" by getting you to use most of your juice when the variable electric rate is low.

Major problem with that. The more demand there is (ice storm, record low temps, record high temps) THE HIGHER YOUR RATE IS. People who actually had power during that big ice storm are STILL paying off five figure electric bills. And people trying to keep cool now are watching their bills climb in that direction again.

Misty is so right. We have friends in Texas and while they haven't been hit with the over the top electricity bills, they have family who were.

Mkay, unless something happens, which all past experience has me expecting it will, we’ll be in Oklahoma for awhile. Not used to people following thru. But this will give us a place to be.

I know nothing about Go-Fund-Mes other than contributing to them. You'd either need the driver to start one themselves, or find someone with more experience to start one for you.

All looks like my new area for awhile will be Texahoma. So if any of y’all are close enough I will eventually be parting with some dolls and definitely many books. Would be nice to make some IRL doll friends.

Refundable, still getting used to the concept, deposit has been placed and we will be there for a couple of months at least. Truck stuffing will commence any time after the 5th.
This whole people actually helping us and doing what they say they will takes some getting used to

Make that after the 15th unless the house is ready sooner. It’s not on the voucher, no one out here wants to take it either, but along with the estimate for the utilities we should be able to afford it enough for the year we’re going to do it. That will give us time to decide to stay here or Texas or what.
There was a big fuss about us losing the voucher, it’s supposedly my future, but being on SSDI getting back on should be okay if I even want to. Might not need to with other things and I’m getting ever closer to the age I could do a senior place.
It’s the waiting even longer for the dolls that is really getting to me.

It's amazing what a difference another location can make, huh? I'm glad things are working out, even if it is still slowly and not the way you expected.

Yeah. I have definitely decided my next big purchase will be a box/cargo trailer. It will serve as storage for me, and only me, and insure I’m never away from my dolls and work equipment again.
