G.I Fairytopia.

Postby Kd_Bunchanumbers » Thu Sep 02, 2010 2:19 am

Hokies, here is my midget fairy character that will be a companion to my Anakin kid doll. She's basically a fairytopia doll head upon a G.I. Joe Scarlet O'Hara body.

Basically I got this doll awhile ago (like 5 years?) and vaguely remember getting her in a fairytopia set of three... Since then I have lost all her hair ties and clothes. I still liked her face and hair colour so she's been hanging around since I found her in a box a few weeks ago.

I hated her body though and at first I was going to get her a microman body but after trying to make her clothes I realised that she would just be better off rocking molded clothes.

So when I found a GI Joe had girls in their line I grabbed it on clearance and headswapped pretty effortlessly.

So yeah, now all I need is a pair of fairy wings and she's done.

She's like a 60cm in 1/6th scale.

She has no eyewhites!

She's got 50cm Obitsu ankles.

And here is a comparison shot of her old body and Scarlett's head.

And with her 'charge'.

I love the posability of that tiny body. Is the Fairy head about the size of a Kelley doll or is it smaller?

She looks a trillion times cooler on that body than her old one - great job!

Her head is about half the size of a kelly doll, which is why I went with a 1/18th scale body. But she's very posable, I think about the same amount of joints as the 1/6th GI Joe's Baroness figure (who looks like Sarah Palin).

Greyhaunt, YUSH. I was just happy she could sit properly after trying to work with her fairy body....

She is so cute. I love the blue hair and how posable she is. The only thing that would drive me crazy is you can't take off that outfit but maybe you could still have her wear other clothing too. I have a Fairytopia fairy with blue hair but she is about the size of a skipper. I am thinking of getting her an Obitsu body.

I've seen Disney Princesses with changeable clothes who about the same size.

I am not familiar with that particular Fairytopia doll, nor am I really into Joes enough to know how but these particular figures are but if the microman body you were looking at is current Polly Pocket sized then she could probably wear the dresses from the new Disney Princess minis. If she isn't that size then disregard that.

If you really want to stick with this body but you don't want her to look so military you could always repaint her something solid. I think she would look awesome in all black and without that little white undershirt thing going on.

Unless you really want her to look military after all.

She's so cute. I actually love the juxtaposition of the fairy head with the military outfit.

That's a great hybridization. I even like the camo and blue hair mix.
