Thomas' helmut is scaled down from the paper pattern that's everywhere, Guy's printed out too small but it's easier to do. This batch is much closer to 1/6 than the last ones.

I'm also working on a YOSD-sized dress form and experimenting with wig-making methods. I plan on getting started on experimenting with eye-making sometime soon.

So, I decided I can't leave all my dolls in underpants. I bought some clothes for Emilio, since he's only 65cm and they were easily available but that left me with Thranduil. 72cm clothes are very expensive and my nephew was not impressed at him wearing jeans because he's an eleven King and should look like one. I am rubbish at sewing, but I have a machine and an ebook on pattern making... What could go wrong?!

I spent the first week after work (in between gym sessions) drafting patterns and taking measurements, and finally got sewing on Saturday. Thranduil now has velvet trousers with red trim, a shirt with gold lace and all I need to do now is a coat/gown, cloak and boots. I can't say my sewing is neat, but everything fits and he probably looks a bit more regal than he did in jeans and a vest. I hope my nine year old nephew is placated. ;D

The silver on Rochelle, I went with a different choice that'll be more stunning. Fingers crossed I won't need a third hank for it that's close but not an exact match.
