Possible Etsy Store

Postby versora » Mon Feb 01, 2016 12:02 am

Oh, gosh! I'm alive. I'm sorry I dropped off like I did. the last half of last year was HORRIBLE, and sad.... Anyways, I have been thinking of putting up an Etsy store.

I plan on making a variety of crochet stuff. I just need tips on how to go about things. I have already priced a couple things I know sell pretty darned well, like hats and shawls and stuff.

And if I get really good I may make doll stuff.

Mhh... do you ask for general advice about Etsy, right? I have an Etsy store since 2013, and I sell mainly life-size and doll size jewellery. It's stimulating, but asks for a lot of time and abilities. The most important thing in my opinion is to be able to do pretty, clear photos (ability that I currently lack... sigh).
Anyway, if you have some specific question, I'm here!

Yeah, general advice is appreciated, since I don't really know how to run a business, and I don't really need a huge store just for selling homemade items. Can you link an Etsy store with your Paypal? Since it seems like you can if you have a business.

Clear pictures I can manage. Well somewhat. My phone can take pictures, but my tablet takes better pictures, but I need to find my tablet, lol.

When you set up your Etsy store you can add PayPal. I have a "store" but I've only sold a handful of things, mostly rerooted dolls and doll related stuff. You can start with 1 or 100 items, just have clear pictures, good descriptions, and a good idea what your shipping will be. People on Etsy seem more willing to try a first time seller if they want what you've got.

I'd suggest little girl and matching American Girl doll sized stuff since people will spend on that.
