That is one fantastic Christmas gift!

Thank you, Mary Kathryn......he got me an equally awesome prezzie! A tan Dollzone Cosmo! We'll be playing dolls on Christmas! LOL!

Kirahfaye wrote:Wow - I have expect her to blink her eyes and start talking!

Awww.....thanks, Kirahfaye! He's been saying over and over how real she looks! I think he is very happy with her!

maywong wrote:I love her face up. I can't wait to see the tutorial.

Thank you, maywong.....I'll be sure to post as soon as it's ready!

Valli wrote:Frank is one lucky fella. You've done a wonderful faceup, Elizabeth. Roxanne is gorgeous.

Thanks, Valli! Frank is soooo happy with her. He's got her sitting near him all the time. He has become VERY attached to her already. I don't know that I'll get the chance to put her in a box and under the Christmas tree!

cirquemom wrote:Incredible! But what is she? Is she a Limhwa?

Ha, ha! You'd never guess! She's actually a Frankendolly! The head is Iplehouse Mars (a guy head!) and the body is I-doll (awesome, awesomely engineered body!) A couple years ago, we were looking on the Iplehouse site and when we came to Mars, we both exclaimed what a beauty she was......and then we clicked in to get more details only to find out "she" was a "he"! Ever since that day, I've wanted to do Mars as a woman. But finding a Mars head without having to buy a body I wouldn't need was nigh impossible. Fortunately (and thanks to a friend who's always looking through the FS on DOA) I finally found one in the Netherlands.

Mary Kathryn wrote:The head looks almost like a Volks to me. Or maybe the ginger faceup is making me have Masha flashbacks. Masha. The only Volks girl I've seen that I had a fit about. Of course she's limited.
Anyway. Yes, what is she?

See above answer.....LOL!

Well, Mars works very well as a girl - obviously. You did a fantastic job. I'm looking forward to your tutorial. I fail at freckles every time I try to do them. Poor doll always ends up looking like it's infected with measles.

That's a great face-up you've done there. Pale skin, freckles, red hair, and green eyes....so, she's Irish right?

I like my dolliehs a lot.
Actually, I like my dolliehs more than I like a lot of people I know in real life.
Is that bad? I think not!

So when do we get the freckle tutorial? I have a red-haired, green-eyed girl who could use some.

And yes, Mars makes a fantastic girl. A lot of the boy faces make great girls. A lot of the boy faces make not-so-great boys, lol.

Thanks, Mary Kathryn......hang in there for the tutorial....shouldn't be too much longer of a wait.....and guaranteed no measle looking freckles.....LOL!

Thank you, TheHighlander. Yep, she's Irish all right.....now we'll have to see if my hubby instills her with a true Irish temperament!

Thanks, Patrice. I think it's his Christmas AND birthday present....LOL! The only thing he'll be getting is doll clothes for a while. But he's totally enthralled with her and carries her around a LOT!

We're reviewing the pictures and sizing them. It'll take another week (what with Thanksgiving and all) but it will be worth the wait. You're not going to believe how easy these freckles are to do! (Also had a good chuckle about your take on the boys' faces! LOL! )

Here's a couple more pictures of Roxanne.....these were taken in natural light outside and it really makes a difference....especially how those freckles just "pop". (Click on them to see them better.)

O_o!
I don't know how you do it, but I love her gaze. I love the minimal makeup look too. Great job!

Hope to see more pics of her in time.

She is really wonderful! It is amazing how many doll heads can become different gender than the doll company markets them as. It just shows how good a job you did!
