I found some really great patterns for dolls on ebay a while back. The brand was Making Memories. They weren't too expensive, about $7 each if I recall. There was a variety of historical costumes available at the time.

They'll have to be adjusted for BJD proportions but overall it's a great start.

My grandfather once pulled a quarter from my ear. Since then I've not seen anything so one day I'm hoping for a big pay out. ha!

Just have your husband hold you by your ankles and keep shaking you until more comes out. It's probably just stuck.

Yeah, that sucks. I may have to break down and buy a pattern and scale it down. It'll take me months to save up for it. But I can do it if I try hard enough. Thanks for the links Trethowan. ^_^

Any Idea what happened to molendrix.com? Everyone says it's working fine, but it's not laoding for me. I either get a 404 error, or a page timed out error, or sometimes to tick me off it says page cannot be found.

Just tried it and it's working for me (the direct link to the patterns is http://molendrix.com/strihy1.html just in case that works for you.

Otherwise try clearing your browser's data - cookies, cache, etc. That sometimes helps.

It can also be a DNS problem - I had something like a while back. Random pages would give those errors, then load perfectly fine a little while after. You could try changing which DNS server your computer looks at (Google's is 8.8.8.8)
(Skip this next bit if you know what DNS is, or really don't want to know ;) DNS is the internet version of a telephone exchange, sort of. It looks at where you want to go, then generally looks up the right number and puts you through. Generally because a) sometimes the particular DNS server or servers you are using can have problems (two large ISPs in the UK have had problems recently) or b) there are attacks that can corrupt your DNS information and point you to a dodgy one.)

Ah, thanks. I just tried it and still no dice. It's a shame really. They had some nice looking stuff too. :(

I saved this link in my favourites:

http://www.tudorlinks.com/treasury/freepatterns/

they have lots of free period clothing patterns for people, but they don't have instructions.

Try this: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

If you get the reply that it's just you, then it is something screwed up with your actual computer. Try using a different browser even if you have to install a new one. If you are using Firefox use IE; if IE try Firefox. If neither work, try Google Chrome.

Here's a list of alternative browsers.

Are there any specific period patterns you're looking for? You could ask around Etsy for clothing makers and see if you want them to create a custom pattern for you (a lot of them are funny about this though, they act like they're giving away state secrets, so do beware). Unfortunately patterns do tend to run you a good bit of money. :( Sorry this isn't more helpful. Is it that you're not registered on DOA and can't see them?

If I have the measurements I use in my pattern drafting book for any doll I can make a pattern. I have a library from "what people wore" books to real and how to fake period patterns.

What eras are you looking for because places like Google Books and Guttenberg.org have free digital fashion magazines and clothing trade manuals from back then with patterns and how to draft, for example the American Garment Cutter.
