I'm waiting to seriously look in to a 3-D printer. I'd like to see it go through a few more generations, maybe have someone make one just for small items. I could also use a place to put it. Too bad several of us don't live closer to each other because we could go in on one together. Have you looked at the Wanted Action Figure site or her Ebay store for heads?

Making your own custom heads is only restricted by your skills. I've been working on and off for a few years and I'm not getting worse. There are home casting kits if you need it out of resin.

Have any of you seen if there is a Maker collective near you that has a 3-D printer? A LOT of the Maker collectives are getting them now. All sorts! There is even one that "prints" by fusing sand!

I'm on the verge of putting one of the stories-in-my-head on paper (or rather on computer memory). My husband has agreed to critique and edit it for me (my dyslexia gets in the way sometimes). I don't expect anything meaningful to come of it, but it would be really fulfilling to have one of my stories out there where other people might actually read it. I haven't written anything since my daughter's birth and even then it was fan-fic.

Now, to stop freaking out about how to start it, and just ... start it! Admitting it here is a step in the right direction.

If you can't figure out how to start it, start writing a bit further in and go back to the beginning later :)

Myrretah and I do lots of writing together. We jump all over the place, and write scenes as they come to us, then fill in the gaps, and work the pieces together. Kind of like quilting.

How fun! Writing is scary. I have no idea what I'm doing. Ha. I just sit down and write every day that I get a chance. There are dozens of competing story-writing aides out there. And everyone who's not a writer will come tell you what to do, how to do it, and how you suck if you don't agree with them. So I'll just cheer you on and hope that you find the process exciting and rewarding.

Write the parts you can write and make notes for the parts to fill in later. When I start I just write until it has to rest then go back and fine tune it later. My dyslexia gets a bit word crazy, I'll know what I want the word to mean but I might confuse similar sounding words, but that's why you go back later and write again.
