I bought a human hair wig on ebay last week. It is beautiful, but it smelled, so I washed it with tea tree shampoo, and it worked. Well, at least the smell is gone...But now, there is this bump on top of the wig, maybe more of a knot, that sticks up where the top layer of hair is. Ive tried brushing and combing to try and iron out the bump, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Ugh, how frustrating Is it the hair that's taken on a weird shape, or is it the cap that the hair is fastened to? Any tangling or knotting in the hair itself? Is it a lace wig, or weft sewn onto a cap? It's hard to see from the picture. Any chance of a closeup? ^^

Its the cap that the hair is fastened to. The last (top) weft(?)that the hair is rooted to. Its not tangled at all, it combs out just fine. Its a weft sewn wig. Ill have to see if i can take a better picture. Would ironing it on low help push it down?

I've seen instructions for flattening that sort of bump with a damp cloth and an iron on low, but they were for synthetic hair. Might work with human hair too (if the iron's on low you should be safe, probably)?

Thanks, i think ill try that. Im hoping i dont have to sew it down, im not sure how that would turn out.

The good thing about human hair wigs is that they are more heat resistant, and can be curled easier! I am so glad it worked and you got the answer!
It's all about Hazel!
