1/3 size glasses?

Postby ivory stardust » Tue Oct 12, 2010 4:53 pm

Can anyone tell me some good sites for these? I have a very specific look one of my boys needs, and I can't seem to find anything but sunglasses (in all the wrong styles), or the one pair of thick black framed ones.

If there's really no place to buy them, does anyone know how to make them?

Have you tried Ebay? A lot of the glasses they make for American Girls might work for the bigger 1/3 scale dolls. I know that Obitsu has glasses and a lot of the places like Dollmore carry stuff like that too. I recommend spending an afternoon doing the shoparound on those and then see if someone on DoA is doing a group order LOL. That's what I do :)

Darn, and I remember just recently seeing something about someone selling eyeglasses, but I don't remember who :(

You know, depending on how they are made if you found the right thing in sunglasses you could always pop the lense out and then "cut" a new clear lense out of some thin plexiglass. Pop them in, maybe dab a bit of glue for reinforcement and boom - you've got what you want.

Forever Virginia sells some really awesome printed glasses. I purchased a set from her and they're actually pretty neat. =D

Emory carries the Obitsu glasses.

Also, you could try dollmore.

Greyhaunt: I've checked eBay, that's actually where I got the set for my little guy, just no luck on larger ones. Though I didn't know American Girl ones might fit, I'll have to check on that. And I never thought to pop the lenses out of the sunglasses and replace them. I will have to keep that in mind in case I find any.

Resu: I clicked that link and I think my head just exploded in glee! So. Much. AWESOME!!

Cirquemom: Yeah, I thought about getting the ones from Emory for my little guy, if the ones I got him break (they seem VERY fragile... like, frighteningly so). But they're just the wrong look for my older boy. I'll check dollmore though. I'm going to be ordering some other stuff from them sometime soon anyway. ^__^

American Girl dolls have HUGE heads. An American Girl bike helmet didn't fit my Mini Dollfie Dream, which has the biggest DD head I've seen, DDH-04. The glasses won't fit either, I don't think.

Some seller used to sell sets of 2, they even came in 'cases', on eBay a couple of years ago. I bought several sets and they're really nice! Not too thick framed and in a good style. I wonder if I still have a pair or two floating around....

If you have any that you're possibly parting with I'd be happy to take a look. ^__^

In the meantime I've found some 55mm round glasses on ebay. I think they were made for bears, but from the measurements they *should* fit. Operative word... should. But, they were cheap, so even if they don't it's no huge loss. And they're just going to be his temp ones til I get the money for better ones.
