I JUST WROTE A WHOLE REPLY AND GOT TIMED OUT. *DED*
Okay, lets try this dance again.
ShadowKat:Judging from the pics I've seen, he might be a little young to be Sam Ax. Apparently there's an old movie of his called "My Name Is Bruce" and that's what he's from. I also found some Xena: Warrior Princess dolls that featured his name (don't know how accurate or what they actually look like. I couldn't get the pics to load). I know that Xena and Hercules did some crossover shows, so he might be the same character?
<---I'll have to check that out. If he isn't too altered, aging him up could be pretty easy actually, especially since Bruce Campbell lost weight in the later seasons of Burn Notice. His Xena character has some wonky facial hair if I remember correctly though--yep, a goofy mustache.
http://www.bite.ca/wp-content/uploads/2 ... mpbell.jpg Here's "My Name is Bruce". That body is BRUTAL, but hey, he even comes with his own Hawaiian shirt and he could be aged up really easily!! Sam Axe is not as far from reality as I thought! Now Jeffrey Donovan just has to get a looklalike head made. XD Nah, there are so many "action hero" faces that one has to look something like him.
I've posted a couple of things on the board and on my tumblr. I usually don't take pictures often. In the next couple of days I'll try to get everyone down and take a couple of pics for you!

Yeah, older Medicom stuff hasn't held it's age well. I'd love to get my hands on a set of their DBZ stuff, but they basically all suffered from deteriorating joints. The hinge in their shoulders would literally crumble. I've still got Ed's old body (We have the original Ed that released around the same time as Roy), it just wasn't very well made. His scars and automail were brilliantly done, but the plastic he's made from... meh. Also, his nasty pleather pants ate the paint off his automail leg.
<-----Yay for pics!! Thank you in advance since I know it can be a pain in the butt. X_X As for DBZ, have you thought of getting them and sticking the heads on a True Type extra muscular body? Or Hot Toys could have a good replacement? I know my TrueType and RAH naked body are almost exact in proportion besides skin tone. (I just have the "regular" bodies, no musclemen here (yet? I never know XD)). The newer Ed doesn't seem too bad, but whooo boy does that little guy stink. I thought something was honestly WRONG until I read that this is status quo for Medicom toys and if you enjoy Alien that your doll version is going to stink your house like a bug bomb for a week. (Apparently she was made 90% out of the smelly stuff, or so said the poster. ^^;; )
They're actually really common. I think most of the Sonic characters are right around 3 feet high (excluding humans, robots, and the odd-and-end big characters), so a true 1/6th Sonic is 6" tall. Jazwares released a whole slew of them a couple of years ago under the name Super Posers. The Sonic and Shadow aren't very well done (they have articulated quills that look funny), but Knuckles and Tails were made wonderfully. I do have a picture of Knuckles up on my tumblr, if you want to see him. On page 2 with pics of rebodied Sailor Mercury.
<-----Still not letting my sister get wind of that little fact. <_< Her giant 3ft Shadow plush is more than enough. I saw Knuckles on your blog, adorable!

(Well, I doubt he wants to be called that but he's an adorable echidna to me.

) But...
spiked quills? That had to be a sad day at the R&D department. "Lets be completely non cost effective and make something move on the character
that isn't supposed to move."
Oops... I think I messed up on some wordings. Most of my crew aren't full on customs, but they have been customized. Mulan is actually from my childhood. She's the Matchmaker Magic Mulan from the late '90s. Those dolls look so much better than any Mulan doll I've seen since.
<---Full stop, I want a Mulan doll now. XDD I still have of all things, a silly Mcdonalds doy where her skirt could come on and off to become "male" or "female".

They totally disregarded the fact that she had molded breasts, darnit, those pants made her a
man.
I understand most of your dolls aren't full on customs. I don't think many dolls are truly one person, start to finish full on customs. And besides, I like modifying better anyway. :>
Sorry, no dirty joke intended!

I just meant that even though he's 12" tall when in robot mode, that's nowhere near big enough to be a 1/6 Transformer/robot semi truck.
<---Is this a size issue again? How even though Knuckles is 6'' he's a 1/6? I'm so confused. But then again Transformers toys confuse me. I own a couple movie figures (no judging! X3) and discovered their non-transforming "Movie replica" line, and that's the only Jazz that doesn't look like he's been scarfing on the Autobot equivalent of Dunkin' Donuts. (Transforming Jazz looks like a bulky ball. It's tragic.) The only time they seem to take size into account was with their "Autobot and Human sidekick" line.
Thanks for the tip, but I'm happier with Ed on his Obitsu body. It's just much better made, plus nobody can beat an Obi at posing. I'm not the type to keep everyone in mint pristine condition. I want them to look like they should and be that character. Ed will eventually get 2 bodies, the 27cm that he's on now and a customized 23cm that will get custom built automail made from parts of his original Medicom arm and leg. He'd actually still fit in his Medi clothing that way, and be able to use all those amazing hands he came with, but he'd be much better built. Except those nasty paint-eating pleather pants. I'm not above body swaps, mods, paint, and custom outfitting to get them to look like I want.
<--I think we had a transmission error here. ^^;;; I only keep them in pristine condition when I think the doll looks perfect out of the box (i.e Roy) I'm all for customizing the heck out of something until it looks like how you want it!! That's the beauty if modification.

We've also bought statues just for their heads. Rin is a Clayz bikini-clad PVC statue. Her head got pried off her body and when we do our next JunkySpot order she's getting her own Obitsu body. I really should start working on her clothes... Especially since Medicom Saber will hopefully start shipping at the end of the month...
<---What size PVC statue was that? I'm dying to make a customized Izaya and Shizuo. <___< I also wanted to try my hand at a custom figma but the small size terrifies me.
