The new house has roaches in it. I am about to die. I've never had roaches before. Pest control people are coming out AGAIN Thursday. I killed two last night. Seriously, I can handle a lot of grossness but not roaches. They're just too creepy.

I know what you mean. I never had a problem with roaches until I lived in Japan. GAAAH! We didn't HAVE roaches out in the backwoods where I grew up.

Roaches are horrible but they can be dealt with, albeit it can take a while to get them under control if you have a really bad infestation. Be glad it's not something worse, like bedbugs. They're an effin buggy nightmare, and nearly impossible to eradicate. :P

Pfft, please .... I grew up in South Florida. There we don't have just roaches, we have roaches you can practically ride (or - epp! - fly).

I am so glad I haven't had to deal with any of those. Not a fan of bugs in general but eugh! *shudders*

Left my flash drives and lappy's power cord at school. Luckily I was able to get my homework files online and finished before the battery ran down so no late assignments but won't be as productive as I planned to be tonight. >< Pretty sure I know where they are so will try to grab them as soon as I get on campus tomorrow.

Oh my god I feel for you Treth.... the place I was living in Florida had a terrible infestation. If you own the house, the easiest way to get them all out at once may be to have it tented. They are tenacious little bastards. Even those super strength Raid bombs, and weekly spraying with the Bug Barrier stuff couldn't keep them under control. Ugh it was horrifying. When I moved up North, I left all my crap in the moving van overnight in below-freezing temperatures, because cold will kill them and I hadn't wanted to risk bringing any of them with me. They last about 45 minutes in a refrigerator. It ruined a few of my cheaper acrylic paints, but it was worth it.

The worst part was... we lived in our townhouse for over two years without a problem. The trashy neighbors with four dogs and drug habits moved in to the unit adjacent to ours and within three months, we had a full blown infestation.

We had to redo the carpet in this place to make a big dent, the last residents were filthy. I know we were keeping ants at bay with powdered cinnamon, don't know how it would work on roaches.

Went for a mall walk today, what ever it is that goes from my lower back over the outside of my hip decided not to. :( If it's not fixed soon I think I'll be looking for a scooter.

New doc, better doc. Tests are back. RA in the hips, spinal arthritis, RA attacking the muscles/tendons/ligaments. Heart and lungs okay, so far. No MS. Osteo in my neck. Fibromyalgia.

He was pretty sad, telling me all of this. Me? As long as I know, there is no need to panic. So far, he has me on a low dose steroid because I have a history of bad reactions to steroids. A tricyclic antidepressant for the fibro. Pain meds, muscle relaxers. I see him again next week for more tests...and probably a rheumatologist for more agressive treatment.

Oh well. At least I know and he shares the reports with me and explains what they mean.

osage oranges are good for repelling roaches. granted the green things are kind of sticky and weird, but hey, better than the bugs.

Just being grumpy. Blegh. I don't really have anything against smokers but I always seem to get the room near where they like to hang out and smoke. And as the air conditioning is turned off the only way to cool my room down is to have the window open. So my options are try to sleep in what feels like a sauna or deal with my room smelling like cigarette smoke. >< Wouldn't be so bad if my roomies didn't seem to think that we need to run the heater all day long. It's 40 degrees outside. The apartment does not need to be 80 degrees. Maybe I'm just weird. And I know at least two of the girls are from warmer places so they don't like the cold much.

-_- I need to ask who keeps putting the heater on auto and see why they're doing it as I'd at least like to know what the reasoning is. If they're just cold I will totally give them extra blankets. I have tons. XD But we're almost never at the apartment at the same time and I've learned that leaving notes doesn't generally go over well. I shut the vent to my room so that should reduce the heat intake somewhat.
