I don't remember if I mentioned I was passed over for my promotion at work, but to reiterate if I did, I was. I thought I liked the guy that they chose in my stead well enough... but the longer he's around, the more I'm coming to hate him. He has this nasty habit of yelling at people for things they had nothing to do with. He yells at me for things that my coworker did, yells at my coworker for things I did, and yells at BOTH of us for things HE did... Oh and he's disorganized. I still do the schedule for the staff, and I have had at least a dozen people come to me over the last two weeks and tell me they were denied their request for a day off, and it's because they're giving their RTO forms to the new manager, and he's either losing them, or just not giving them to me, but regardless I'm not getting them. It makes me look bad to the staff. Then, he's undermining everything I've done over the past eight months, and undoing a lot of the progress I had made. Now, I have been so stressed out about things with him that I'm forgetting to do crucial parts of my job that are so ingrained into me that I can do them in my sleep. He's losing his shit over two and three minute efficiency tricks that my coworker and I use to make our lives easier, saying we're wasting company time. But those two and three minute tricks actually SAVE us time down the line and help us keep the day running smoothly. I have mild tendencies for ADD, OCD AND freakin' dyslexia with numbers. I never bring it up with him because I don't use those things as crutches or excuses, and because I have learned little tricks to help myself cope with it, and function like an otherwise normal member of society. I also need routines. I HAVE to have routines or I forget dumb little things. And he is fucking everything up, which stresses me out MORE, which makes me forget MORE, and round and round we go. Now he's calling me lazy and accusing me of wasting company time and saying there's no excuse for me to get things done. I was so worried about getting done the things he ASKED of me (mind you, I've told him time and again that if he has specific things he wants me to do, to write it down, leave me a note, leave me a list, etc, because I don't remember things that are tossed at me last minute or as an aside), that I did in fact end up wasting time trying to sort things out. Then, he assigned me a sticker project where I had to put labels over barcodes on almost 700 units of product, and our tablet system, which is new, and doesn't have all the bugs worked out yet, was crashing repeatedly. Between those two things, I lost five hours of my eight and a half hour day. Then he wanted me to set up interviews with a bunch of applicants, which was another half hour. The freezer door was frozen shut, so I had to hunt down a Costco employee to open it for me, which was another twenty minutes of time... there were a bunch of other little things that apparently happened as well, and I have just been working myself up into such a bundle of nerves over my days off, worrying about what I'm going to face when I go in next, that my hair is falling out when it FINALLY had started to grow back, my stomach keeps churning so I don't want to eat (another dangerous thing because I also have hypoglycemia) and I'm giving myself headaches (compounded by my blood sugar levels tanking when I can't force food down).

I Am Not Enjoying Working Full Time X__X I'm Trying To Type On My Phone And Its Being Stupid (That'sWhy EVERYTHING Is Caps) My Managers Are About To Make Me Quit X_X I'm Not Getting Any Full time Benefits And I'm Not Getting All Of My Breaks. I Think It's Time For A New Job. On The Bright side, I Finished My Moc Layaway =D On the Other Hand, At This Rate I Won't Have Any Dollieh Time
Because skittles are overrated.

I can't sit at work; I was sitting for about two minutes checking a project for a student when I was observed and I was told not to do so. When I get home and relax then get up again to go to the kitchen or bathroom I can barely move. I really need something that supports my feet, because this pain is becoming overwhelming and it's only October. I know that partially it's because I need new shoes but I have no idea what to get. I've tried sneakers, Toms/Bobs, boots, heels, no heels, orthopads, nothing works.


I work at a library and am on my feet for the majority of my shift and the only things that work for me are my Crocs. I've tried a lot of things too, including Birkenstocks that many of my co-workers wear, but the Crocs work best and they are pretty reasonable in price.

Sign of really poor people skills. Anyone higher up or HR that you can go and talk to? If you and the co-worker each put in a complaint, it might help. No one needs to be treated that way at a job. I think the idea of looking for a better job is reasonable too.

My sux...the dreaded birthday is coming up again and I have to get my driver's license renewed. Meantime, the car has to go and get the auto-start fixed tomorrow because it wouldn't shut off at all yesterday. They pulled out the auto-start to over-ride it at least so I could make it to work, but I want it fixed before it drops below freezing on a regular basis.

Thanks for the suggestion! I can't wear regular "garden shoes" type due to the new dress code. I'll have to find the flats in half sizes.

I don't find their cute flats and more stylish designs to be quite as comfy as the regular ones are for me so I'm not sure that will help you. However, they do make a few styles that are especially for people with foot health/medical issues. Also, if you have a doctor's note that says you need special shoes, you can over-ride the dress code. Health trumps silly rules every time.

Well...it won't offer immediate help, but I can't recommend ballet enough for anyone who has 'flat feet' and trouble with their knees :) A good number of the exercises involved at barre target the instep of the foot, strengthening it, which gives your foot natural support. And, when done properly, ballet will also train your body to put weight on the balls of the feet instead of the heels as well as balance the muscles in your legs to more adequately support your knees. If there aren't any adult classes, (or you're not comfortable with them), there are actually quite a few ballet based workout series out there that will do the trick :)

I actually had HORRIBLY pronated feet and struggled with foot knee and ankle problems all the way through my teens. After orthotics, PT, and a podiatrist, the only thing that eventually helped me was ballet :D

Today seemed like one of those days I swear everyone in the world is conspiring to piss me off. My lead has the habit of getting me pissed off so I'll work a bit faster, I guess he doesn't really realize that I do things sloppily when he does this out of spite. I can't wait until I'm out of the backroom.

Since several people have aches and pains in their knees I'll suggest looking in to the Human Spring Approach and How I Got My Wiggle Back using pressure points and exercise to naturally correct and strengthen your muscles. I also had ballet and dance when I was a kid to correct flat feet, I can't continue because of lower back problems. Pointing your second toe the way you want your feet to go when you walk is a good way to start.

As for shoes I had to give up my newest pair because we disagree with each other. I'm on the barefoot/minimal shoes side of things and usually wear ballet flats and Mary Janes. The most comfortable pair I've had in a long time are by Capezio, flats with sneaker treads on the bottom and elastic straps to keep them on.
