Nice! I like how you put the focus on the magazine with the face of the soldier. I guess it makes it immediately obvious that a war is being portrayed? And then the rest of the clutter completes the story?

Yes. That is a real Time magazine from the Vietnam War era. It was a historical reenactment camp of the part that Illinois soldiers played in Vietnam, which was supplies and support troops. That was one of the bunkers that was set up at the state military museum. I'll be going back out in September for their portrayal of WWI. These boys, or men, rather, do a most respectful job of portraying our soldiers at war and during peace time.

Another shot from the Living History event.

Hmmm...I forgot to add that I used my trusty Pentax K1000 with the Asahi 50mm 1:2 lens. Foma film, 100ISO, processed at home (loaded in the basement, developed in the kitchen sink).

I used to draw quite a bit, pencil drawings, but haven't done that in years. Don't know why as it was most relaxing, but I suppose other interests sometimes takes us away from things we used to do ;) Anyway, I love photography and enjoy doing both photoart and digital abstract art... not everyone's cup of tea, I know. ;) Here's a sample....

Sorry... I just don't seem to be able to get it right  My pics are on flickr. Anyone know how to get them here? I've tried the url address - no go. I tried the link they provide and the bbc code - no go. :x

So, if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. :)
