Dropping out of the ether to say hi. I'm sorry I haven't been around these past few months, everyone. I've been in Lurk Mode on Den of Angels too, and just about everywhere but Facebook (and even then, only to really click that infernal Share button on inane pictures of random things). Those of you on DoA's RS Large Dolls thread already have an idea of what's going on.

So I didn't get my promotion, and my hours are being cut, which really sucks. I never got the extra dollar an hour for the time I was the Acting Manager either. If I had the energy, and thought it would in any way be worth it, I could probably pursue a case for Promissory Estoppel but after the court fees and paying a lawyer, I probably wouldn't come out any further ahead. I'm disappointed but I'm going forward. All told, the relocation got me out of a bad situation and on my way to better things. I'm moving again in two weeks, to Pawtucket RI. It's gorgeous little place in a lovely middle class suburbia, it's fairly new, heat (and hot water) is included in the rent, and it has AC. I'm very excited about it, and very excited about the one that I will be living with. It's only a mile up the road from a river reservation, as well!

No more labwork - not sure if I should be relieved or upset that I didn't get more data...

The cell work - the complicated calibration step worked perfectly, but the actual seeding? Well not so much...

Eh f*** it - from what I've seen and heard my examiner (who seems to like me) and my supervisor (who's made my life extremely difficult this year and well I wont use the term I'm thinking, but I have v.little/no respect for the man) both hate each other so I do wonder if their accounts of what my grade should be will vary wildly!

If your examiner has sense, they should give you credit for being able to get results under pressure... it's a good quality to have.

I hope all of you will take 30 minutes out of you day to watch this video (From One Second to the Next) about texting and driving. And then get your friends and family to do the same. I found it interesting that in all but one incident the texters were adult.

anyway, I'm quickly remembering why I usually just paint these full color pages one at a time instead of in a batch....

Is it bad that despite months of metaphorical hair-pulling; with the deadline on Wednesday (But in reality likely Tuesday due to the ridiculous need to get the thing bound...) I really couldn't give a damn about writing it up now? Methinks burnout has just occurred... I've got about 30 pages in out of the necessary 50 into the thing, so at this point I really need to just plug the data in and fix-up the hideous mess that is the background info. But ugh just the thought of properly analysing the stats on some of this awful data is making me break out in hives! Considering that for half of these dratted pieces of machinery I used I haven't got a clue as to their theoretical precision, or degree of accuracy (let alone when they're used for stuff they're not strictly designed for) I'm going to need to get creative... And that I've got 60 sets of 1 particular type of data to compare (which I brought down to the bare minimum number of data points...) ...and last time I got anywhere with that the computer crashed catastrophically... just ugh I want it to be Thursday!
