Almy, my husband and I (21 years in December) did the Vegas thing too. We told everyone when the date would be, went to the Excalibur, reserved the wedding time, bought tickets for everyone to the Jousting Show for the "wedding dinner", it was non-stressful* and everyone had a good time--and it cost about $500, less than most peoples' dresses.

*The only stressful moment came when his mother, my mother, and his grandmother started arguing about who was going to do my hair and what it was going to look like. I solved that by walking out, across the street to the strip mall, and getting it done then and there on the spot.

I bought some things from Parabox today and it's shipped, but the money wasn't taken out of my account even though Paypal has the sale as completed. I dislike it when stuff like this happens because I'm afraid I'll either accidentally overdraft or I'll be stealing if the money doesn't get taken from my account.

Yeah, I hate that myself. It happens quite often with Japanese companies in my experience for some reason.

Similarly, I'm currently staring at my 'entertainment/fun stuffs' account knowing it's reporting a couple hundred dollars that I've already spent but hasn't yet been pulled from the account by the sellers. On the plus side, it's more a placed the order and haven't yet received the invoice rather then everything having been completed yet the money is still sitting there. But still, I keep wanting to respend it on dolliehs and dollieh accessories. >.<

...Sigh data and me are not friends today! The tensile tests came out ...weird so I'm not sure if todays 5 hours of setting up samples and 3 hours of actual tests was actually worth it at all. I've got a horrible feeling the (completely untestable) tensile machine itself was the issue here

Seriously my project is going to have some pretty SEM images, some Image J stats analysis and some basic cytotoxicity tests. Woo... A whole year of work and that's the end result...

Vetinari - There's not a way to run standards on the tensile machine? I am so sorry for all the trouble you're having with this. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be. I know it seems like a waste of time, but it's worth it so that at the end, no matter how it all comes out, you know that you did what you could. Sorry if that reads as a platitude.

I woke up this morning to hearing a cop banging on a door and yelling "Open the door! It's the police!" repeatedly. Cue me and my husband freaking the hell out, throwing on clothes as we run down the two flights of stairs to our front door, and then realizing it was our neighbors house. We live in a basically urban close quarters neighborhood that I swear is actually pretty decent. The police interviewed us to see if we know them and when we last saw anyone at the house and there have been a handful or plain clothes cops just hanging out on our street(more like a sidestreet off the main drag that's actually half an alley. There's loading docks and such for the restaurants on the other streets mixed in with the houses) since then. I'm guessing it's something with drugs, but who knows.

They don't have an extensiometer to properly confirm stuff so it'd have to be compliance testing with a steel bar. And typically my samples are anything but the standard dimensions!

...Hmph yesterday I got readings of ~30N today nothing bigger than ~6N methinks there's something wrong here!

This is why I am an idiot. Two days ago I got an automated call from Home Depots staffing center but I accidently deleted the call but I can't find the fricken number to the staffing center and....I just ruined the only hope I have of getting out of walmart anytime soon.

I have worked for Walmart for over a year and NEVER have I had a customer make me cry, especially in front of people. I am ready to quit on the next person that flips out on me over some freaking coupons that they didn't even have the right items for

This is why I am an idiot. Two days ago I got an automated call from Home Depots staffing center but I accidently deleted the call but I can't find the fricken number to the staffing center and....I just ruined the only hope at getting out of walmart anytime soon.

Could you try calling the Home Depot (on their regular line) and asking them for the number, explaining that it was lost due to a mishap?

The number said not to call the store but, If I can't find the staffing number it may be my only chance.
