Introducing a very young Peter Lorre

I've not finished the suit. I still need to put a lining in the jacket and add pockets...and in the lining will be shoulder pads to keep them from collapsing. I goofed on the front, though...where the fold is for the lapel. That's what happens when I sew without a pattern. I had one of my husband's suit coats that I was studying and totally forgot/spaced the fold of the lapel so it ended up in two different parts. *smacks forehead* Then I realized that the pants are too long. I'll have to take out the inseam of those and then shorten them a bit and more hemming, sew the inseams again. In lieu of a bow tie, I think I'll have a cravat instead. I'm not much in the mood to sew, much less TIE a tiny, minuscule bow tie for a 60cm fellow.

The suit isn't even close to what he wore in the movie 'M', though. That's all right, though. I've always got time later on to make another one. He'll also get his 'stage make up', too. I've noticed that in a lot of his movies (Peter Lorre) that he's got some serious baggage going on under his eyes and the upper lids are a LOT darker than what I've done.

This is what weekends are for when there isn't any football. To be honest, I can't wait until Thanksgiving now. I schedule that off from work every year. I know exactly what I'll be doing.

I've got my Chun back in her champagne pink wig. I had to trim that up a bit because my awful, terrible, evil (yet so very adorable) orange fuzzball decided he liked curls and decided that he would brush it with his claws. *shakes head* Now that it's a little more than shoulder length, he's leaving it alone. Now I'll just have to go through her clothes and find something she can wear to present her to him. =D

Anyway, here he is...my WIP. (I think I've spent more time with him than I have all my other dolls combined!)

In case anyone is curious as to who I'm talking about (and obsessing over) here's one of his many photos that I've found online. (Not linking over to it other than you can click the link to see it.) http://cliponload.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/m9Zv316l.jpeg

*model is DZ X-2 head, on the single joint 60cm body.

Nice job, suit lapels are hard-even with a pattern.
