I'm a tall girl. I'm 6'3" and it's hard to find a bicycle for me. I haven't had a bicycle at the right height for about ten years. The last one I had was way too tiny, it was hurting my knees more and more even though my job is only a ten minute bike ride away, and my parents couldn't stand the sight of me on that bike anymore, haha... so they bought me one at the right height. It's so big it's scary. Hahaha! It's acutely given me a fear of heights. LOL. Getting on and off it goes very.. clumsily. But don't get me wrong. I LOVE IT. I am SO grateful. Finally I'm experiencing joy when riding my bike again. And I can ride it a lot faster too!!

Congrats on a new bike!

I'm somewhat ashamed to say that I have never learned to ride one. It's not that I never tried. I had one when I was little, but seem to have a poor sense of balance combined with a lack of extreme interest.
At 33 it isn't impossible for me to still have a second try at learning, but at this point it probably isn't going to happen.

Perhaps I'll buy an adult sized tricycle one day. One with a basket and a little horn. Yeah...that would be great!

Things can be bought again. If hell breaks loose you'll want important paperwork, pictures, and each other. I live in earthquake and wildfire country and without a car we have 2 cats, 4 dogs, and then what ever we might be able to carry or drag in a granny cart if we're lucky. If I had to leave Xavier my beloved behind his spirit would continue with me, he might not even be first if I could only chose 1 toy because there's a plushy I've had most of my life who might go first.

I've been in a few things where my life was spared by what ever, I've had things I put emotional energy in to taken in one form or another. In what ever form he choses Xavier will always be with me. Life is long and ever changing and the flexible have an easier time of it.

I don't know what it's like in America but here in the Netherlands riding a bicycle is our second nature. ;) I don't think anybody here is unable to ride one. Our country is very bicycle-minded, hehe. My American friends who visited last Summer couldn't stop taking pictures at the enormous amounts of bikes parked everywhere

Oh my god, my mother. When I moved out, I specifically wrapped and packed my doll stuff in a box all together. Literally all she had to do was tape it up, print out a label and ship it. Instead she went and took everything out of the box and put it in some other box. Now I'm trying to sell off the masses of doll junk I have, prepare for a show, and figure out what dolls can model for the show and she swears she doesn't even have like 5 of my dolls.

...She also needs to start believing me when I tell her what a kitten's gender is. My cat had a kitten, and even though I am almost 3000 miles away and going off cell phone pictures, I knew it was a female calico. My mother swore up and down it was not calico, it was a plain grey tabby, and it was a boy. SHE is three weeks old now, has a big obvious orange calico spot on one eye, and has already been stuck with the name Moriarty by my dad. This is how we end up with a girl cat named Loki and a boy who very nearly was called Duchess.

Congrats on the bike, Evelien!

SillyLilPuppet, that kitten thing sounds like my Dad. He's a freakin' biologist and wouldn't believe 10-year-old me when I named my gerbils Bernard and Bianca, telling him the black one was a girl ... he insisted they were both boys, right up to the point where Bianca had 10 babies which sort of proved him wrong ...

McGann,McGann,McGann,McGann,McGann,McGann,McGann,McGann,McGann,McGannMcGann,McGann,McGann...

That's all I've wanted past doctor-wise in the show since it started really... And who do we get? ...John Hurt

Now don't get me wrong, John Hurt is a great actor, but why was a "forgotten" past doctor used? Why Moffat Why??

I really hope Nov 23 is good (and unrelated to the Time War - if the show directly contradicts my head canon for Eight I'm not sure which one I'd choose to ignore which is terrible I know but...)

It's not a "forgotten" past doctor.

This is The Doctor's grave.

This is the LAST Doctor.

I hope he is a future doctor in that case - though Moffat does love confusing people with his scripts, over on the DW forum they're arguing about Clara's phrasing of I saw all 11 of you which kind of implies that Matt Smith is the last one... I'm trying to ignore it all as usual but I'm on a McGann audio play binge, and feeling a bit put-out on 8's behalf - his stuff is all fascinating and wonderfully experimental at times, and spans time wars, paradoxes and centuries of adventures. But he only got 60 minutes of screentime!

Gah!

(That and I'm disinclined to believe the Doctor's Death stuff - since it's at least the 4th time it's happened recently, and I'm inclined to believe that with the GI and the timeline collapsing like it did everything is in flux since Paradoxes! ResetButton! Hooray! TwistyTimeyWimey - not at all meant sarcastically against the plot, kinda loved it just wishing there was more than a Femtosecond of McGann in the whole episode/this year - but we'll see there might be *spoilers*)
