I love this one:

When Chelsea laughs <3 it's completely adorable. And I love how the show makes fun of Barbie as a concept, I mean they emphasize she's a doll all the time... When Chelsea needs to push a button on her shower to make hot water come out or when one of them says "Not everybody has plastic abs"

I finally made it to the local doll club last night for the first time in months (I have a few awesome pictures on my phone from when my hands got restless and I managed to pose Ariel kicking Bast in the face, with Ariel standing unaided...) but now I am so painfully exhausted because I had to be up at 5 for work this morning.

...I'm starting to think I should just not go unless I have off the next day. @_@

Do need to upload those pics though.

Today on the beach I had Ella and Kellan on their little "beach towels" under a small parasol next to me and hubby and a couple and their friend and dog came up to us. The following conversation happened.
Woman 1: "Can we take a picture of your Barbie dolls?"
Me: Sure
*gets a little closer*
W1: Oh those aren't Barbies!
W2: Are those Bratz?
Me: *points to Ella* "I guess she's kind of similar to a Bratz but they're from Korean companies."
Man: Well they're awfully pretty.
*takes picture*
Man: Can we get a picture of CocoPuff with them?
Me: Sure!
*W2 poses the dog with them. Dog is very well behaved. The people thank me and leave.*
My day was made. And yes, obviously I know Hujoos have very little to do with Bratz (other than being able to wear some of the same clothes) and Kellan is a Bobobie (which is a Chinese company) but I really didn't feel like getting into that with them, when they just liked my dolls and thought they were interesting and cute that they were set up at the beach.

Ugh, those things are tantamount to a chain letter. "Repost if you care!" *eyeroll* Make it stop, make it stop!!!

I completely agree. Even if it's something that I want to scream from the top of someplace very high that last little sentence always ruins it.

I know that feeling. Was at the park doing a handheld fairy shoot (aka no strings. hand hold feet shots). A mother and her pre-teen girls were wondering what i was doing holding my 25cm Obitsu out like that until they saw my camera (if they go further into the park I think the rest of my doll firends would overwhelm them if the bunch of cosplayers don't floor them first  ).

And all i told them was that its a Japanese made doll who probably looks like a fairy Barbie to them anyway. What i do is a form of photography using dolls as models and if she has a favorite figurine she can shoot this way too as it adds on to the way you shoot stuff. It never cease to amuse me that some non doll folks are practically amazed by the whole using doll/action figure/figurine as model thing.

Have you ever felt you really wanted a doll, have it pop up in the market place for an absurdly low price and suddenly realize that you actually don't want it that badly?

I keep looking at DOA's marketplace even though I don't really intend to buy any more dolls. Why do I do that? I keep finding amazing deals and I can't do anything about it!

If you don't want one don't look. If I'm not in the market I don't do to the enabling stores. It's even harder because I have doll money right now BUT it's Dr Elebenty's money so when I feel tempted I play with my other Doctors or something else that helps keep me on track. I've been doing it all year and I can keep going!

Cravings last for about 15 minutes so every time you're tempted distract yourself, and when you don't cave in have a reward that isn't your temptation or something else that would set you back.

That would explain a lot of things. I lack self control. Tried to avoid buying stuff for the big doll and ended up buying some items for the smaller ones. At least the 1/6 crew can share stuff....

The "I Wantsies" are visual for me. I see, I want. Removing the item of Want from my visual space reduces the want of it almost completely. I'll even forget how bad I wanted that thing if I don't look at it. If I go back a week later or month later and still want it, then it stays on the top of my "to get" list. Most of the time I look back later and think, "eh, not that great."
