I know that feeling. Was at the park doing a handheld fairy shoot (aka no strings. hand hold feet shots). A mother and her pre-teen girls were wondering what i was doing holding my 25cm Obitsu out like that until they saw my camera (if they go further into the park I think the rest of my doll firends would overwhelm them if the bunch of cosplayers don't floor them first

And all i told them was that its a Japanese made doll who probably looks like a fairy Barbie to them anyway. What i do is a form of photography using dolls as models and if she has a favorite figurine she can shoot this way too as it adds on to the way you shoot stuff. It never cease to amuse me that some non doll folks are practically amazed by the whole using doll/action figure/figurine as model thing.
