I was moaning about having to go out in the pouring rain to grocery shop and had to stop at Wallys where, on a lower shelf, in a lonely corner I found this.

Just barely stopped myself from making a dolphin squeal. She and her roommate dolls were there for $45 each. She's sold out online of course. Since we are a bit cash poor and I knew she would disappear fast, I used the credit card to get her. And there is some kind of promotion thru our credit union to use the card, so I got her for $10 off. She ended up being cheaper than online with shipping. Meant to be. I'll turn her over to the DH to hide til my birthday next month. :D

Ooh, I also have a "meant to be" Monster High story! I was going through my Monster High collection and checking to see what parts I'm missing, and found out of missing these purses. One of which is the SDCC Iris Clops purse. I found one on Mercari at a reasonable price. The seller messaged me earlier to let me know they would have it in the mail tomorrow, and we started talking back and forth. I told them I was cataloging my collection and realized I'd lost the purse for my Iris. Apparently, they had ALSO lost the purse for THEIR Iris, found a couple different listings online and made offers to the sellers, and didn't realize they'd actually accepted and bought both listings until they both arrived on the same day, so they decided to sell the extra! It was so funny that we'd both lost the purse, but they accidentally ended up with two of them, so I got a really good deal on it. The dolllieh gods smile upon us today!

Elfmates are back in stores this year! This year has a tiny sled with a scarf, muffins (Or maybe they're cupcakes? Or muffins with icing and sprinkles? Who knows?) in a ton and a stand mixer, and a sewing machine with a felt teddy bear and felt stocking! Plus the three shirts for the year! They're a reasonable size for 1:6 scale dolls, though the sled is more Kelly/Chelsea sized.

Image

For scale reference, Reneeah (redhead) is on a tall Made to Move body, the blond in the back is a vintage Stacie doll, the little girl is Nia (one of Kelly's Lil' Friends), and Astranova from Monster High, just because I like her.

Reneeah is wearing one of the shirts, and I included the other two just so everyone can see them. The sled is plenty big enough for a Chelsea sized doll (but I could not find one that wasn't naked for the picture) and the scarf is really long. The muffins/cupcakes come out of the tray and have a separate liner, so you can technically make your own clay cupcakes or muffins to put in the liners, and the bowl from the mixer is a separate piece that can be removed. The mixer has a knob on top to make it spin. The sewing machine has a handle on the side that makes the needle go up and down! The stocking and teddy bear are just stiff felt cutouts, but they do have printed details and could easily be used as patterns. The shirts have a slit at the back of the neck so they can be slid on. They look like cozy oversized T-shirts on a Barbie, and would probably make cute nightgowns for smaller dolls like Stacie. Pretty sure they'd just slide off Astranova's twig body, but she's only hear for the muffins anyway.

The decorations on the cupcakes/muffins are stickers, so they can be removed if you wanted to. The three playsets/accessories sets also all come with a sticker (pictured behind Reneeah's left foot). Each of the shirts and accessory sets is $3, so this whole haul cost me $18 plus tax.

They're available at Dollar General right now.

Fell in love with this and snapped it up. I'm not a fan of Wicked/McGuire in general but I do stan Michelle Yeoh.

I thought they did a pretty good job on the face sculpt and I love her outfit. I'll probably unbox her eventually.

Found Wednesday and Enid on Amazon for reasonable prices (less than $40 each) so I caved and bought them both. I’m trying to decide whether to unbox them or not. I usually do to save space but I kind of like their boxes. Maybe I’ll just try to keep the backgrounds.

Also just bought one of those inkless photo printers that print sticker photos, because I have a LOT of dolls and it would be nice to start keeping records of them. At least all the BJDs. Also, journaling! I’m trying to get into that habit, too.

An easy way to start journaling is to have a book where everything goes in, receipts, stickers, ideas, artwork, stories, tags from things. You are getting it out of your head to make room for new stuff and putting it somewhere to keep track of it. No one else ever sees it unless you want them too and there are no journal police.

As I tell the kids on my internet lawn think of it as a paper blog.

I love journaling! I've been doing it for 4 years now. It's made a big difference for me. Mine's digital, but I have a pdf file for each of the past 3 years that I can keyword search through and find things.

I haven't bought anything recently, but today I got a surprise box from my mother full of Christmas decorations! She's so sweet. It seems that my family got bitten by the Christmas bug early this year.

I finally found some of the Mini Brands Books! And I got the Stranger Things books, which is apparently some kind of special?

For the surprise balls check Hobby Lobby of all places. They just got the books and Hello Kitty in. I'm surprised they don't have the babies.

And a hint with the surprise babies- if you shake it and hear thin high pitched plastic inside there's a good chance it's a baby buggy. I only have one and guess what was inside.
