I tried watching Children of the Corn the other day. The original one? Yeah, I couldn't take that little kid seriously. I know he was supposed to be some psycho sociopathic prophet or something, but every time he opened his mouth I just cracked up. He sounds like a chipmunk! Alvin, Simon, Theodor, and the long-lost brother Isaac! XD The really interesting thing is, I was at a monster convention two weekends ago with some friends, and he was there. In real life he really IS that short. Also, he played Vincent's son, Jacob, in Beauty and the Beast. I never knew that! It's kind of awesome.

Oh, yeah, and I got signatures and my picture taken with Robert Englund AND Kane Hodder (aka Freddy and Jason). That was all kinds of awesome. Mr. Englund was such a neat person, too! He told the best stories about his childhood.

I love all those paranormal/supernatural movies. The Grudge is one of my all-time faves (and not just because SMG is in it). Also it's original Japanese version, Juon (the first movie; the sequels were just kinda stupid). White Noise is also pretty excellent. Then, of course, The Sixth Sense is a classic. I honestly don't know why M Night Shyamalan gets such a bad rap. I love most of his movies. They're pretty original, which is more than you can say for most everything coming out of Hollywood these days. Lady in the Water, for example, is just awesome. In fact, that grass-wolf-monster in it might've been the inspiration for the sea-wolf creature I dreamed up. THAT was an awesome monster.

And I admit, I do also enjoy the Paranormal Activity movies. Especially the first two. Have yet to see the fifth one, but I expect it'll be hitting Netflix pretty soon.

In my mind, a creature is not a monster if it's portrayed positively, like the current incarnations of vampires and werewolves.

I think my favorite monsters are the ones that lure you in to your own doom, like the Shopkeeper in Needful Things.

Stormlight: Ohman, I watched Children of the Corn... in fact, I have it on DVD. xD Yes, it is impossible to take Isaac seriously with that high-pitched voice... ohmygod... Funny thing is, though, when I was in middle school, my friend and I were spending the night at her friend's house, and her friend put that movie on, saying it was a scary movie. Me being a bit more of a wimp as a kid, I kept asking if there were gory parts in the movie, and my friend said yeah, but she'd let me know when they were going to come up. So we start the movie, and the first friggin' thing that happens is a guy gets his hand shoved into a blender... and my friend was like, "Oh... forgot about that." I just stared at the floor for the rest of the film. _xD That movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. Now, it's just so corny (no pun intended) when I watch it...

M. Night Shyamalan made some pretty good movies, but then his movie making just got sloppy. :( I will say, though, I actually really liked The Village. It was pretty cool, I think. Sadly, though, I wasn't a fan of Lady in the Water. Aaah, it's one of those movies that I think was patched together a bit lazily. Asian horror movies, though? Love those. So macabre. xD I think Korean horror movies tend to be the best out of the bunch, though, and Tale of Two Sisters is one of my all-time favs. x3

victoriavictrix: That movie was amazing. xD Agreed, those monsters that lure characters with deceit and temptations are really fun.
