I tried watching Children of the Corn the other day. The original one? Yeah, I couldn't take that little kid seriously. I know he was supposed to be some psycho sociopathic prophet or something, but every time he opened his mouth I just cracked up. He sounds like a chipmunk! Alvin, Simon, Theodor, and the long-lost brother Isaac! XD The really interesting thing is, I was at a monster convention two weekends ago with some friends, and he was there. In real life he really IS that short. Also, he played Vincent's son, Jacob, in Beauty and the Beast. I never knew that! It's kind of awesome.
Oh, yeah, and I got signatures and my picture taken with Robert Englund AND Kane Hodder (aka Freddy and Jason). That was all kinds of awesome. Mr. Englund was such a neat person, too! He told the best stories about his childhood.
I love all those paranormal/supernatural movies. The Grudge is one of my all-time faves (and not just because SMG is in it). Also it's original Japanese version, Juon (the first movie; the sequels were just kinda stupid). White Noise is also pretty excellent. Then, of course, The Sixth Sense is a classic. I honestly don't know why M Night Shyamalan gets such a bad rap. I love most of his movies. They're pretty original, which is more than you can say for most everything coming out of Hollywood these days. Lady in the Water, for example, is just awesome. In fact, that grass-wolf-monster in it might've been the inspiration for the sea-wolf creature I dreamed up. THAT was an awesome monster.
And I admit, I do also enjoy the Paranormal Activity movies. Especially the first two. Have yet to see the fifth one, but I expect it'll be hitting Netflix pretty soon.
